oh damn. Well I should have read this before posting in "an opportunity", makes that one rather silly.

I agree we should certainly consider this war of some form. Trying to determine what GoW's motives are would be IMO foolish, we need to respond to the reality of the situation, i.e. a severe threat to our cities.

If this is part of that stalling, then it makes me feel less inclined to go along with anything they ask for. Basically they have asked lego to hold the save hostage while we mill it over, rather than ask us directly. Bah. ****'em

Don't get too upset, I don't think they would do something like that. Most likely, this is just a genuine mistake, not a stall... there are other ways to stall save games, you could for instance simply hold onto the save, instead of sending someone on vacation over Easter.

Theseus raised the question of an armitice before, and in general we agreed. We are currently seeing the effects of Easter... two guys on leave, with a miscommunication between the two of them. It doesn't matter, luckily the problem doesn't lay with us.

I looked back at the map and from Vox's pre-war map, there are several places north of Elipolis where Vox could break road connections leaving some of their cities with iron but others (including their capital) without. Unless I'm misremembering things badly, it is only trade that requires a road connection to the capital. Units require only that the city in question be connected to the resource. So Vox has some room to produce warriors in some cities and immortals in others, and even to adjust that balance to fit their income by changing where the road is broken if they want to get that fancy. We have no way of knowing exactly what they're capable of producing where aside from in The Voice itself.

Nathan, was that a response to my 'they could have pillaged the road before or after Elipolis, keep producing warriors, and upgrading them in D-ville'? I'm not sure if I posted that in this thread or not, and I'm a bit too lazy to find out.

You're right that it is impossible to assess what exactly has been built by Vox, however, they have little less then 50 shields produced per turn on the last screenshot I have of their territory. 2 of their cities are capable of 1 turn warriors, IIRC, If they would cut only those from the road network, they could produce 2 immortals and a spear each turn, if they have enough cash... which leads to the 3 units per turn max I was talking about earlier.

(they are not able to make 80 gpt on their own, their commerce is about 40 gpt.)

Bah... it comes back up just when I have to get off!

Anyways, my thoughts are in the Email I sent. A quick run down: (some few additions)

Diplomatically, I think we should just stay quiet.

Militarily, have at least 3 units on SS6 (add the northernmost WC, subtract a Sword) and H8 (add the Sword). Keep the WC on our Iron, and the rest stay put in Arashi. The Galleys can block any landings onto our Iron this next turn if we want to go that way, or can go out to sea and stay hidden (H996).

Domestically, more of the same. Too soon for Horsemen IMO. Upgrade the Warrior in Arashi. Rush the Cat in Sandstorm. And rush Bolderberg up to 20 shields, switch to Pike. Hurricane on 1 turn Cats.
