Urgent questions & tasks:
Destroy the enemies at our gates!
Unit movement & actions:
W2 'BigFree' to move back to a perch?
W3 'Alva' to move 8 (N)?
W4 'Theseus' fortified in Apolyton.
W5 'BFW' to move somewhere or other. Scouting CDG would not be bad plan.
W6 'Hagbart' waits for barb situation.
W7 'WhiteBandit' fortified at Apolyton 1.
W8 Complete at Banatopia.
N1 Complete at Apolyton.
Economy:
Apolyton completes NM. Begins worker.
Banatopia completes warrior. Begins worker.
Whole lot of WF switching going on.
Workers
Worker Dan finished mine. Awaiting orders.
Diplomacy:
CDG: NAP in effect. Tech swap in effect; we give WC and Wheel for IW.
GCA: NAP in effect (fm Turn 29). Tech swap in effect; we give WC and Wheel for Writing.

WF?
I'll copy-paste the recommendations from the MoI thread once I see that the Barbs have not messed with our plans. If so, we're in trouble, and I've got some work to do!

I like the way I've set up the Labourer/Laborer assignments (the idea is not mine). It's easy to follow if you're in the city screen, and will scale well as we get more and more cities.
Any comments/criticisms are welcome, however (especially from E_T...why does he complain to you and not me!?!).

I like the key pad directions. Yes, we discussed those too. Why? Because a single way of specifying directions works for WF, workers, ground units, air units, navy, geographical discussions... in short, everything everywhere.
Once you get used to it, it is simpler. I think.
But as I also said in chat, I will follow the lead of the MoI. I know what a labourer is, and he now knows what WF is. No problems that I can see.

I'm confused.
Could someone show me how the WF/Laborer allocations are done in the Demo. Game?
Once we get to use images again, I'll post a little tutorial in how I intend to represent Laborer/WF allocations.

Mingapulco:

- 18 Food, 15 Shields

Once upon a time I suggested that the above system be changed to use A-T instead of of 1-20. The advantages being that no one would confuse it with number pad directions, and it always only takes a single character for each city tile.

Some explanation on the MoI recommendations for this turn:
1. Apolyton only needs 10 Shields in the next 2 turns for a Worker. Therefore it is set to only produce 4 Shields this turn, and will make up the last 6 next turn.
2. This frees up a Bonus Grassland tile for Mingapulco to use. When it grows next turn it get to use the 2 Shields from that tile immediately, although it will lose one to Corruption.
3. Apolyton does not need the Game tile, as it only needs it twice every four turns. Therefore Bananatopia is open to use it. In fact, this is necessary, if we want Bananatopia to get the Worker as quickly as possible.
4. We're not working all our roaded/Commerce tiles, that is true. However, we'll only be "losing" on Commerce in this way, and I'm pretty certain it will not affect our ETA for The Wheel. Shields and Food are more important than Commerce right now.
Feel free to comment on all this, or flame me at your leisure.

Ok, after some talk with vondrack, it seems like we can save 1 Commerce if we do things a bit differently (woo-hoo!):
This turn:
Apolyton Laborers at 1, 3, 9, 33 (SW, SE, NE, SE-SE)...the 9 tile could be any other pure Grassland tile
Mingapulco Laborer at 6 (E)
Bananatopia Laborer at 77 (NW-NW, the Game tile)

Ok, I just saw the typo that may have been causing some confusion: in Turn 43, Mingapulco is supposed to have Laborers at 6 and 9 (not 69). Sorry about that.
This will change, however, if we do things this turn as I've presented in the two posts above. But fear not! Our Workers and Mercs and Settlers will be ready on-time.

No: 15 Shields left this turn, that 3+4+4+4. So we can use one turn with Mingapulco only producing 3 Shields.
Note that, if we do try to pop out a NM as fast as possible out of Mingapulco, we lose a Shield per turn to Corruption, since Mingapulco's fifth Shield is lost. We could conceivably get the NM out 5 turns from now and lose no Shields (putting them all into Corrpution-less Apolyton), but I thought we wanted those Mercs out ASAP.

These orders were actually done after we recieved turn 42, so some information has been updated for the new circumstances of the turn.
MOW Orders Turn 42: 2110 BC
MOW Summary:
Our military is:
Average compared to GCA.
Strong compared to CDG.
Barb stack has now been destroyed (as of beginning of turn 42) and Hagbart is now elite with no damage. If/when we get Swordsmen, Hagbart will be a key player.
Scouting is still going on. Alva is almost done, BF is returning to his perch between CDG and GCA. BFW is still scouting the western "peninsula."
With Hagbart as an elite and with our first NM, we can now afford to send a Warrior screen south to watch the southern border with CDG. W4 'Theseus' and W7 'WhiteBandit' will be sent south to set up a scouting shield to watch for anything suspicious. CDG has a weaker military than us right now, so we probably won't have to worry about an Immortal rush before we get that screen up.
In 2 turns we will send out MerZenary to hunt down that barb camp, since no enemy units will be able to get within range before our 2nd NM will be done at that point.
I want to keep 3 units in Apolyton for now until the situation changes, since we can move all 3 units to any of our cities if we need to, while if we have any units in either Mingapulco or Bananatopia they won't be able to get to the other city. All units will be kept in Apolyton unless a city is being threatened or if it will go into civil disorder. This way, if an enemy appears we can route all 3 units to any city and have them all fortified before they attack. This will hold true until 2-move units start appearing on the scene.
- NM1 'MerZenary' will fortify in Apolyton.
- W2 'BigFree' will move 6 (E).
- W3 'Alva' will move 8 (N).
- W4 'Theseus' will move from Apolyton to Mingapulco.
- W5 'BFW' will move 4 (W).
- W6 'Hagbart' will fortify in Apolyton.
- W7 'WhiteBandit' will move 2-4-2 (S-W-S).
- W8 '?' will move from Bananatopia to Apolyton.
