If you open up Spybot and go to Tools --> Processes it will show the same thing as Ctrl-Alt-Delete, just with a more verbose output. (It will tell you where the program is installed and usually you can make out what it is).

Well...I will try that. But still I am scared to kill running processes when I don't know what they are. Plus, do I kill them once and they stay dead or do I kill them each time I restart?

From the ctrl-alt-delete screen if you kill them, they will stay dead until you reboot.

When you reboot they will start up again.

The ones you shouldn't kill are the ones that say, "Windows" or "System" on them.

Put an end to popups!

You can't print them.

Hit print-screen, that will take a screenshot.

Then go to Paint and paste. Then you'll have to upload the picture here.

here is what spybot had ( i was able to export a list. Than I had to determine the whole path of what i had exported. And then use WE to find it. And had to turn on "view hidden folders to get that".

Sheesh. I am really sick of Windows trying to be like a Mac. Give me back my 3.1.1. Or my NT.

Well, what rocket scientist at MS didn't reallize people would want to record the list of processes? I will do it like you say. But it is ridiculous with the amount of people they have and the time they've spent that there are still so many poor ergonomic features.

Full PM-box? Change here!

Antivirus is on free-av.com
For recovery of messages go to C:\WINDOWS.000\Application Data\Identities\{C some weird number 3AED3B6703}\Microsoft\Outlook Express
this is the directory where are messages.
In outlook go to file - import > messages > chose program > import mail from directory. Do you remmember that directory above? Right it is the ONE.

When you'll try to recover messages from your backup it would be the right way to do so.

BTW your gf should send you the error message.

And your computer could use some regclean.

ok. thank you. You seem to know your stuff, so:

1. What is regclean. What does it do, disadvantages, etc.

2. I will get her to send the error message or to write it down.

3. WRT the Outlook situation: any ideas where her old messages and adresses and such are? (different problem...but she renamed a file that had outlook in it (I guess) to not have her hubby's name on it. And it made it so that outlook looked brand new. she changed it back and all but can't find the old messages and stuff.

Tired of ads?

I believe that's when you go to the front page of Apolyton, it will check your computer to see if you have a parasite. If you don't have it it won't show.

(It'll actually say on the front page if you have the parasite).

I went there. Couldn't find anyplace where it told me whether I had a parasite or was free. Maybe Mark doesn't have that feature anymore?
