	CoC: Minister of the Interior nominations Support Apolyton, buy Civilization 2

quote: The Senate has the power to take a proposal for Change of Command (CoC). a. Any Senator may proclaim a Change of Command proposal on an elected official. b. The Senator must state the elected official he is intending to remove from office in the first post - this is called the 'initial proposal'. c. During 48 hours after the initial proposal, any number of candidates may apply for the job. The Senator himself may or may not apply. d. After the first 48 hours, but within 72 hours, the Senator must organize a vote - this is called the 'replacement proposal'. If this vote is not organized within this time, the CoC is nulled. e. The replacement proposal vote must be open for 72 hours. f. The replacement proposal vote must include all candidates, plus the person who was the subject of the initial proposal, unless this person indicates otherwise. g. The CoC vote shall be done with a preferential ballot. The person with the highest outcome wins the election. h. An elected official may only propose a Change of Command vote on himself, and not on another one. i. Any elected official may not be the subject of a CoC for five turns after his election.

This CoC is to replace Dominae, as he has stated that he wishes to discontinue his ministry.

This is the thread where you can state if you would like to run for the Minister of the Interior. It will be open for at least 48 hours. After then, voting will be set up.

Although I was under the impression that the consuls were going to have me replace him as I was his deputy/vice....

[EDIT] I've already have started updating my spreadsheets and I'm getting ready for this task. For Instance, between now and turn 100, I can get 1 Warrior, 6 NM's and 1 settler from Mingapulco (after the barracks are completed).

I thought that since the Monister's were appointed by the Consuls that a CoC wouldn't/shouldn't be done on them. It up to the Consuls to replace Minister's at the drop of a hat.

The Constitutin says that the CoC is for "elected officials"' Minister's are not elected, they are appointed.

The Constitution gives the Consuls the power to appoint Ministers.

If the Consuls want to appoint ET as the next MoI then they should and no vote or CoC is needed by the Senator's.

Yes a poll is still a good idea. For nominations and for the Consuls to get an idea of who the people want. We did the exact same thing when the first appointments were made. It' nice to see the Consuls appoint someone whom the people support. If the vote is close, it's up to the Consuls to decide.

It's just that a CoC is not technically correct and is unneccessary.

Although I believe E_T is an excellent choice, I do hope some other face steps forward to enter the running. Surely there are some great Economists out there othe than E_T, BFM and I (who all ran for the Ministry the first time around). If nothing else, we could see who among us has a penchant for economic fastidiousness.

First, I still believe this is not a "Constitutionally authorized" event.

Consuls have the power to appoint Minister's

Minister's are not "voted" in.

From the Constitution:

All that "legally" needs to be done is for the Consuls to appoint another Minister.

A poll still would be nice so that the Consuls know whom the people prefer, but, as a matter of fact, it is not required by the Constitution.

Anyways....if you are still set on following this format; you have less than 4 hours to submit a poll on this matter Panzer32 or else your original CoC is null and void. :/

After a 48-hour nomination period, the Consuls posted a poll on our new MoI. Only those candidates publicly accepting their nomination in time were included (E_T, Panzer32).
