Eye on CDG Support Apolyton buy from Amazon

Since it's of great importance that we know what CDG is up to, I've started this thread where we can accumulate all information about CDG which we discover, so we can best track their progress and their potential threat to us.

Turn 59

CDG recently finished a Settler, which they are sending to the chokepoint with CFC. Their Settler-Warrior pair will reach the chokpoint in 1475 and can build a city there in 1450. I believe someone pointed out that we can delay this by one turn if we move our Warrior.

They have claimed to be researching Mathematics, and we have a deal with them where they will finish Math + Philosophy 25 turns from now in exchange for Map Making. In my simulation starting from scratch in 1600 I had Math by 1050 BC and Philosophy by 750 BC. That's slightly over 20 turns for Math (though I spent a fair amount of time at 10% research) and about 12 turns for Philosophy. Altogether, over the 25 turn requirement.

CDG's city "OurGoatsAreTrained2Kill" recently expanded to size 3 on turn 56. It is the first city they built, and there have been no drops in population so we can assume this is the first time the city has gotten up to size 3 and has produce no Settlers or Workers. The same is true for the other CDG city, Zarigueya.

Right now CDG presumably has a GNP of approximately 10 and Mfg. Goods of 8 to maintain an adequate growth rate, with a max of 15/12 when optimizing commerce or shields along with possible tile improvements which we have not seen.

Avatar Enlargement: We've got the solution

Probable but not certain knowledge: Back when we got the embassy, I stared at their improvements and did some mental math; what I came up with was that turns vs improvements said they only had one worker. We've seen no drops of only one population in any of their cities, so it is quite likely that they only have the one worker going out. It IS possible that they timed a worker production with a city growth to mask the fact that it was done, but that is both being exceedingly paranoid and clever - not something we've been giving CDG much credit for. Maybe a few of our math gurus could backtrack the founding of these cities, and their probable growth speeds, and examine whether or not they should be at the sizes they are right now. (That would seem to be the case; neither of them seem like they should be any bigger.)

Summary: CDG probably DOES only have that one worker, which is very good news for us. Watching the population sizes of those cities is going to be an important hobby in the near future.

CDG Army Assessment

In this thread, I've been running some tests on army strength. I want to see if we can determine the strength of CDG's army. From the preliminary results, I get:

Apolyton's Army
6 RegWar, 1 VetWar, 1 EliWar, 2 RegNuM = 13.84

We know we are "average" compared to CDG (all well as to CFC and GCA). This means CDG has:

CDG's Army
Minimum: 80% * 13.84 = 11.07
Maximum: 125% * 13.84 = 17.30

We also know they have 1 RegSpe, 1 RegImm, and some Warriors running around.

In the minimum case, this could be:
1 RegSpe, 1 RegImm, 7 RegWar = 11.63

For the maximum, this could be something like:
1 RegSpe, 2 RegImm, 9 RegWar = 16.86

Recently, I found out that Army Support (gpt) has an effect on army strengths.
We're not paying any. They're not paying anything when they're at minimum. At maximum, including 1 worker and 1 settler, they'd be paying 2 gpt, making their army a little 'weaker'.

Intel:

They've got, uh, 11 threads in their Strategy forum.

I don;t recognize many names on their ISDG team: Kentonio and Ghenhisfarb.

What team is GF on in the PTWDG? Anybody have any insights?

Theseus.

GF is on GoW. My impression of him is that he is somewhat volatile and behaves in an erratic fashion purposefully to throw others off.

In my opinion, he may very well be contributing to the manner with which CDG has been dealing with us. He may be drawing some very misleading conclusions about our nature from the PtW DG.

That we're peacenik b*tches that can be slapped around. I'm wondering where ever the team south of us got the idea that their diplomacy would end in anything other than bloodshed.

I won't dwell on GF's tactics and insight as I'm a Glorious Warmonger myslelf and I am equally loyal to both of these teams.

What I can say, is that GF was been VERY busy these last few weeks, in fact, he was sent to Ft. Hood yesterday morning for 2 weeks. I honestly don't think he is participating much in the ISDG as CDG's strategy shows no GF-style whatsoever.

Support Apolyton, buy Civilization III: Complete

nope, I can serve both equally.

To imply that I would choose one team over the other is insulting.
