I personally voted for Netherlands because that song was a genre I really like. I had Turkey as a 2nd. so I can't say I dislike the ending score. More to it, the Turkish song was the only one where you could identify the nation by the sound. There rest of the songs were mostly sugar and butter to feed the masses. The Turkish belly dance was cool too.

One funny thing is that a friend of mine will tour with the Swedish Eurovision contestants this summer. He and I had the same part in "Jesus Christ Superstar" four years ago (evil priest). He was only 18 years old, while I was 30. I'm a practical joke fan, and I talked the poor innocent kid into spitting a mouth full of water on Jesus live on stage in the last show. He was reluctant but finally did it. The actor playing Jesus was not amused, especially as the water hit his microphone. No tech problem occured though. Next time I met him, just before he reached national fame, that practical joke was a great memory for him.

Just a few years later, the shy and humble Emil Sigfridsson became a national star in Sweden by coming 3rd in the 1st season of the Swedish reality show "Fame Factory" where the current Swedish Eurovision contestants "Fame" won. He also released a solo album that reached #1 in Sweden for several weeks.

Below is a never published picture of him from backstage at our mututal show. By the way, my brother in-law (my avatar) was sound engineer at the same musical.

Yep, Europe hates us (not big loss really considering most of it's a ****hole), and they used a song contest to confirm it.

All this will do is further dampen UK Public against Europe (which I'm delighted about btw) and make it harder for the UK to enter Europe. This could only really be Europe's loss since the UK is probably the 4th strongest Economy in the World. You'll be left with Germany as the only decent Economic power and someone needs to chuck them a parachute as they are falling like a rock.

Stefu, in the Contest he couldn't grap his croch for not being disqualified but rather grapped for his belt, but beside that it was pretty similar. And yes, we were robbed, because some countries (Germany, Israel) will NEVER give us points, even if we got the best song ever.

USA will gladly extend the hand of friendship to UK as our brothers.

The UK song was crap and deserved a bad score. Add in political silliness and it got knocked down even more.

The show is and always has been a play for laughs, and anyone trying to find deeper meaning beyond the nights festivities (in order to troll, claim rightful withdrawal from the EU or declare WW3) is a raisin short of a fruitcake.
