GP: In the sixties in the US there was a brief television fad for making knowing camp programming in a really over-the-top way, with shows like "Batman". This is as close to that as you're going to get in europe- garish, overblown and slightly tounge-in-cheek programming where awful bands from the entire continent are cheered on by a fanbase consisting entirely of wannabe homosexuals. Except they take it seriously. Er.

anyway, from what I gather, some swedish commentator said the norwegian contestant sounded like an "untuned bicycle pump". not too far from the truth that either I guess

I won't comment Polish participance... I don't like the ones who were hcosen for this. When it coems to the rest, I think that Belgium should have won. Austria was nice and funny as well. Turkey danced nicely. And as I thought, the Norwegian guy got some points. The worse thing was Russian participance. It's not about the melody, and these girls may be nice, but they just can't sing.
