I *think* this is the right place...
For those of you that remember him, Txurce was an active poster in Strat until about a year ago. He specialized in peaceful deity games, and was a participant in the original Mini-Tourneys that evolved into AU.
He posted on a deity thread yesterday, I said HI!!, and he sent me the following. I don;t mind posting it, nor do I know if he is participating in the ISDG. I just find it very interesting in terms of CFC's attitude towards 'poly:

Theseus,
When I periodically leaf through the Apolyton Strategy forum, I get a huge kick out of the deified status that you and Arrian, for example, have acquired. More seriously, you have done a great job of both collating information and providing an amazing continuing-education course with the AU concept. At this point, serious Apolyton Strategy equals AU.
As you know, I wound up at Civfanatics, where there is a solid Mac community. They weren't very good, so I started playing 1.21 deity by myself at the same time. Then that force of nature aka Cracker came on stage, offering to mod the GOTMs so that the Mac players could join in. This meant that we were playing with 1.29 rules, with PTW civs and additions like the stock exchange, the Internet, and so on. Cracker's jerry-rigged efforts led the guy who ported the Mac to complete the 1.29 patch, so now Mac gamers are playing the identical game as PC 1.29 Civvers. (A side note: 1.29 made deity harder, but not much harder.)
I just completed my fourth GOTM (deity, my best score so far!), and have learned a lot since my educational isolation began upon leaving Apolyton. It's been about a year, I think, but do you remember how none of us built granaries at the start? Like most of you, I think, I came around after finding myself with half the cities of other players at the 1000BC mark. In general, I was blown away by the gameplay of the CivFanatic elite. Now that Aeson devised a new scoring system that doesn't favor milking (it roughly balances fastest finish with expansion), there were almost 250 entries for GOTM19 (emperor). The top players are definitely a cloud bank above me, and I'm not quite sure what's going on up there.
Alexman usually plays in the GOTM, and I've seen Nathan's name in there once or twice. Have you ever done it? Or do you feel like who needs to open a second Pandora's box? I've thought about playing in the AU, since it's a different, and very interesting approach, but I think you've phased out 1.29ers, right?
Well, that's enough of an update for now. I hope you're doing well.
Txurce

BFM - check out the map analysis thread for some convoluted estimates of mine - skip to the end if you think it best.
Moreover, for turn 76, here are the values for other civs for
GNP:?, ?, 28, 27 (us), 26, 22, 21, 19 (? is 28 or above)
Mfg Goods: ?, ?, 26 (us), 22, 19, 18, 14, 11 (? is 27 or above)
as far as I can tell. This is from noticing that we were eg. 4th at Mfg of 19, yet 5th at 18.

More research:
Colors match in-game colors (estimates).
GNP (commerce before corruption):
?, ?, 28, 27, 26, 23, 22, 20
MFG (shields after waste):
?, ?, 27, 22, 19, 19, 14, 11
My previous research shows that CDG is most likely at 27 GNP and 14 MFG. These numbers show this to be true or very near to it.

CDG is in their GA
Evidence: The valued for Mfg Goods turn 78 are as follows -
?, ?, 28(Us), 24, 23, 20, 19, 11
Note last turn (77) as in Trip's post, these were
?, ?, 27(Us), 22, 19, 19, 14, 11
The one with 14 on turn 77 is believed from sims to be CDG, and they have just jumped to 24 this turn. Thus it seems a reasonable conclusion they have started their GA as of this turn.
For GNP:
Turn 78
?, ?, ?, 32(Us), 28, 23, 21, 16
At turn 77 as per Trip's post in Area X
?, ?, 28, 27, 26, 23, 22, 20
We grew a pop point or two, so we went from 28 to 32. Increases of one or two can be explained by a new pop point or a new road elsewhere, otherwise the bottom two lost a pop point to barbs/disease, rearranged workers away from trade or, as is likely in the bottom case (Firaxis) built a settler.
The change is that someone has gone from 26 or 27 to above 32 (above us). That someone is again likely CDG, and Trip's estimate of their GA GNP was at 34.
Both pieces of evidence point to the conclusion that CDG is in their GA.

Updated tech stuff on page 1. The info below is old.
quote:
Who has which tech?
Update: Turn 69, Jun 15th, 2003.
In the Turn 67 thread, the number of turns is given to discover some techs. We have accumulated 0 beakers, so we can now establish how many other civs (out of CDG, CFC, GCA) have those techs.
- Philosophy (144), Code of Laws (240), Literature (240), HBR (120) all still have their full cost. None of the civs therefore has it.
- Mathematics is at 163 to 165 beakers now. Two civs have it (we still need 165 beakers).
- Mysticism is at 73 to 74 beakers now; its full cost is 96. If all three civs would have it, we would still need 75 beakers.
The formula must be not 100% correct, here.

Updating Army Strength. Below is old info.
quote:
CDG's Buildup Turns 44 - 61
Update: Turn 69, Jun, 2003
- On Turn 44 (1950 BC), we had a Strong army, compared to CDG.
We had:
6 RegWar, 1 EliWar, 1 RegNM
for a total of 10.09 Army Points
This means they had (at maximum):
5 RegWar, 1 VetWar, 1 RegSpe
for a total of 7.73 Army Points
- On Turn 45 (1990 BC), our army was Average.
- On Turn 59 (1525 BC), our army was Average.
- On Turn 60 (1525 BC), our army was Weak.
We had:
6 RegWar, 1 VetWar, 1 EliWar, 2 RegNM
for a total of 13.84 Army Points
This means they had (at minimum):
5 RegWar, 1 VetWar, 1 RegSpe, 3 RegImm
for a total of 17.42 Army Points
So, they built up 3 Regular Immortals in the meantime.
(given the above assumptions)
- We built 2 RegNM and 1 VetWar on Turn 63 and went to Average, which we still are in Turn 66.
CFC's Army as of Turn 60
In Turn 59, the Foreign Advisor (F3) reports that he knows nothing about their army.
In Turn 60, he reports that the Warrior is the best unit he knows of.
We're average compared to CFC.
GCA's Army as of Turn 60
The Foreign Advisor (F3) tells us that they have the Warrior as strongest type he knows of.
We're average compared to GCA.
Q: which GCA units do we know already?
Very Old Information
Apolyton's Army as of Turn 58
6 RegWar, 1 VetWar, 1 EliWar, 2 RegNuM = 13.84
Apolyton's Army as of Turn 59
6 RegWar, 1 VetWar, 1 EliWar, 2 RegNuM = 13.84
Apolyton's Army as of Turn 60
6 RegWar, 1 VetWar, 1 EliWar, 2 RegNuM = 13.84
