Tale of the Years 950 BC to 725 BC Got spare money?

Let it be known throughout the land that Pharoh Cavebear set Himself out into the fields to direct the explorers of many kinds in the search for Monarchy and to organize the attack on the evil Japanese at Kyoto...

And one of these ventures has achieved success!

More to come after I create screenshots... In either case, a great success for all of us!

THE TALE OF THE YEARS – 725 BC

The main goals were to move strong units toward Kyoto and find huts to pop in hopes of learning the secret of “Monarchy”…

925 BC – Indians researching Pyramids. Germans researching Pyramids. Greek Settler passes by Enron. Pop hut, NONE Legion.

900 BC – Pop hut, NONE Horse. Rush Barracks in Enron (44G).

875 BC – Enron builds Barracks, starts Settler. Pop hut, NONE Legion. Pop hut, Horse (Glorificus). Pop hut 50G. Pop hut 50G.

850 BC – Indians abandon Pyramids. Pop hut, 8 Barbs. Kill one with surrounded Horse. Mobe near Horse to Mountain.

825 BC – Barbs kill surrounded Horse. Greeks attack Glorificus, our Archer becomes Vet. Pop hut, advanced tribe (Giza). Pop hut 50G. Archer in Glorificus kills Greek Archer outside gate.

800 BC – Dang, didn’t check all cities before ending last turn! Glorificus and Majestica go into disorder! Rush Temples in both (148G). Pop hut, Legion (Giza). Pop hut, Legion (Pax). Horse stumbles onto Barb Horse; must attack or be killed. Horse dies. Giza disorder, rush temple.

775 BC – Pop hut, Mathematics. Pop hut, Trade. Pop hut, MONARCHY!!!!!!!!

750 BC – Americans switch from Hanging Gardens to Pyramids. Pop hut, one Legion Barb. Revolt to Monarchy (Oedo year).

725 BC – We are a MONARCHY. We are so greatly pleased as the comprehension of the new system is given to me by the Wise Men. We are “Divinely Annointed”. What a great thought!. Contemplating the divinity of Myself, I realize that It was destined. With this newly-understood authority, We shall spread effeciency and increased productivity throughout the land, knit the fornerly independent cities into a unified political and cultural entity, and all for the greater glory of Me. Bwa-Ha-Ha… It is good to be King!

It seems the time for voting (polls) is now at an end...can the time for seeing what our new King can do be far off? It will be interesting to see how our leader acts with his new found power...will he respect the wishes of the people, listen to the wisdom of his ministers, or decide our fate on his own, leading the empire based upon his own whims and desires.

Easily answered...

Regardless of the form of government our glorious civ is empoying at any given time, I always keep in mind the the game itself is based on democracy. The Citizens rule!

While the specific recommendations I act upon during the playing sessions is based on what the Ministers tell me to do, those instructions are based on the group decisions of the Citizens as expressed to the Ministers through the polls they arrange.

So, the process is that the President plays a session of turns (usually about 8-10), posts screenshots for Citizen information, and sends the new game file to the Ministers. The Ministers, in turn, then poll the Citizens about the most important decisions. The Ministers relay the results of the polls and specific suggestions to implement those poll results, and the President then plays the next series of turns based on that.

Sometimes there are conflicting suggestions from the Ministers. The President tries to balance the demands of the various Ministers and I personally give great weight to the discussions by the Citizens in resolving those conflicts.

You may rest assured that my leadership upgrade from Despot to Monarchal Pharoah will not blind my eyes nor block my ears to the wishes of the Citizens!
