quote:
Greetings. We are in very worried about the troop movements in the borders of our countries. Could you clarify your intentions to us? We are open to future agreements that allow assure stability in the zone. By our part we must present excuses to step on adjacent tiles to your border a few turn past, and unfortunately we must excuse ourselves again because a warrior is near again. I hope that It does not happen again.
MrWIA has reported about a PM sent by UnOrthOdOx:
quote:
Greetings!
I've been asked to help out a little on the diplomatic front between our nations. Kloreep is a bit busy it seems these days.
I understand that you guys are researching Engineering, correct?
I come before you now to offer up the following trade: Literature + Feudalism in exchange for your Engineering. I believe I would be able to convince the team that it would be best for us to send Lit now as well, instead of later, and trusting your impecible record that you will follow through with the Engineering.
What say you, do we have a deal?

At the moment we are not investigating anything and during several turns we are not going to begin any investigation but we could coordinate with you in a future. If you could wait for that time we could make this agreement, or other.
Due to MZ's multiple duties I assume the foreign relationships of the LL team, please excuse (and enjoy) my poor english

quote:
Niessuh,
I must profess a slight amount of confusion as to what you are meaning reguarding the troop movements. For I can find nowhere that we have violated your border.
Look, I don't have the time nor will I put forward the effort to dance around the subject here. You can ask MZ if you want, I just don't care much for skirting the issue.
Here you are, playing as Rome. It is no secret that you now have Legions. It is also no secret, and by your own admission, you are hording gold. Now add in the fact that you have begun to settle a little uncomfortably close to our own border, and the fact that communications have been slow to non existant between us.
Let's not kid anyone, it all looks like you are setting up a launching point for invasion. Be it before feudalism with legions or later with medeival infantry as the primary attacker makes little difference. Do we have troops in the area, then? You're damn right we do. Are we preparing an attack? RIIIGHT. Attacking fortified legions with horse and sword. Come now, we are not foolish.
Now then, perhaps this is all just due to the fact that true relations between our teams have never properly been set up, who knows.
We are more than happy to discuss any form of deals with you, border arrangements, to non-aggression, and are even open to the possibility of a full fledged alliance, but at this point, our intentions are to defend against the attack that seems surely comming.

Me pregunto:

Respuesta: (UnOrthOdOx, Tabemono)
quote: Niessuh,
Sorry for the delay, I had some power trouble at the house last night.
Tabemono agrees to stay at least one tile from your territory provided that border is not touching, but we are most concerned with the growing nature OF that border.
We would like to therefore set up a border arrangement that is tied to the NAP. This will go a long way to easing the anxiety of my own team and will hopefully plant the foundations for a long lasting friendship between our two nations.
However, also of concern with an NAP, we would like a clause that if either team commence hostile operations against another team the NAP would then be voided. One cannot expect the other to sit by and watch in such an event. I am sure MZ will agree this is a lesson learned from the first PTWDG.
Again, right to the point, we would like to know your intentions on borders. We ask for the area N and W of your current borders as these have been planned for some time. It would also seem to make sense for your own team to settle the area more southward and secure what is sure to be a long stretch of road to connect these new settlements.
