Yeah, by nazi/communist do you mean what exactly?
If you mean fascist like in Nazi Germany, and communist like in East Germany after 45 I´d prefer the latter. While both were totalitarian regimes, chances to survive conflicts with the ruling forces were muuuuuch bigger under communist rule.
If you are rather after the Soviet Stalinist era, it would be too difficult to decide for me.

I would live under netheir government. Both oppress people, and both froms of government when used in Germany and Russia killed millions and oppressed millions more.

That's up to each individual. Vote according to example, theory, perceived probability, a combination of such criteria, whatever. I just imagine it would make most sense to couple standards, rather than the obvious stances many might take (Communism by theory vs. Fascism by example, etc.)

Even though they'd both suck, I'll say communist, because then I'd at least have a pleasant ideology to fall back on. I'd feel too guilty to live well in a fascism. In communism, at least I can trick myself into believing I'm suffering for a noble cause.

With relative perception of present, I think I would rather have lived in Caesar's Rome than Stalin's Russia. Even Germany under Hitler would have been more desirbale than that - in a majority sense

Ok. Well let's take this example from the complex tangle of meat and neurons known as Thorn:
True I'm anti-christian yes, but I'm far more anti-muslim
I'm sure you have gut inclinations of the same construct, not necessarily with the same two forces? If not - then abstain! So, which would you rather live in - a communist or fascist "state"?

In that case, take communism/fascism to be the interpretation of your choice. |
Sure, but it varies. In my case - my "choice" was largely of human example on this earth; not proposed fantasy

Not to meantion the higher standards of living, greater employment opportunities, ability to travel, and do just about everything as long as your not a member of a minority group. |

Yes, but how is that better? If I was living well under a fascism, where a minority was being horribly oppressed (or even systematically slaughters), my material possessions would bring me no joy. At least under a brutal communism, I could be sure that the vast majority of us (excluding the Party higher-ups) were suffering together. And if it was a not-so-brutal communism, well then it'd just be all the better.
