I went there about a month ago... make sure there are no English sporting events on at the time you arrive. The following may happen when you arrive:

1) BAA will be so thoroughly engrossed in a sporting event (even something a spurious as lawn bowls) and you will be in baggage reclaim for 4 hours whilst they finish this enthralling battle.

2) BAA will "lose" your bags and will pretend to search for the "lost" bags. In truth, they actually have your bag but are trying to cover up the fact they are watching the bowls.

3) Make sure you have a foreign passport. The 2 queues for the British queue are MUCH longer than the 40-odd for foreign visitors.

4) Experiance dictates you should NEVER ask a London cabbie to take you from Heathrow to the City. You'll be ripped off. Soo if you can find a friend, a proper cabbie (as opposed to the tourist attractions), or if worst comes to worst, take the Underground.

I don't know the name of these towns, I have only seen some of them through my casual visit in this Département. I am unable to name them.

I would rather buy a house near a river or stream in the Lot rather than one near the sea. This Département is one of the most beautiful area I have ever visited.

We don't check our bags, we bring carry-on only.

I would use my british passport, but that would mean waiting in a different queue than my wife. I will be entering as a New Zealander.
