	[OOC] Hi, my name is Arnelos... Put an end to popups!

So hi everyone, my name is Arnelos.... you may remember me from such educational dramas such as earlier in spanish history and the first SPDG.

Spent a good deal of time being rather busy with political work in Virginia, then drove out here to Arizona to take some classes over the summer. My video card decided to fry on me (the fan that cools the card shorted out, which then caused the card itself to practically melt... bad news).

I now have a new video card (GeForce 4 ) and I'm using this as an excuse to upgrade my entire system this week.

As for other issues, I have gobs of free time compared to my busy life over the past few months, but I'm not sure how much free time I'll have when this next German class starts on July 14th.

I've been having fun hanging out with and going to the occassional party with the people I lived with in college (since I'm back there for the next month and a half). One of my roommates is an x-girlfriend, so that's a little odd, but otherwise things are pretty cool.

Gaming wise, I seem to go through stages where I'm into various genres of gaming. Over the past few months, it seems to have been an CRPG phase (though thankfully never any MMORPG's). See, I bought MoO3 and I played that a lot for about a month before I got bored of it and progressed to Neverwinter Nights and eventually back to the crack known as Morrowind.

However, I keep getting e-mails from Togas to get my lazzy a-- back here, so I figured that since I actually have time right about now, that wouldn't be such a bad idea.

I did purchase Rise of Nations not too far back for the sole purpose of playing it with my roommates over our LAN (since two of them already owned it). That game's a lot of fun, but I've mostly played it multiplayer and I put it down when the Neverwinter Nights expansion came out (which took me only 3 days to beat... so I'm back to Morrowind for now).

I think that's probably enough stream of consciousness writing for people who haven't seen hide nor hair of me in months

So how's everyone else been? I talked to Unorthodox via IM a few days ago and he filled me in on some recent PTWDG history and Togas sent me an update a few weeks ago, but obviously I'm not that clear on all of the details. Also, how's the ISDG been going (Togas seemed to indicate that it wasn't going so well...) and the new SPDG?

hmm.... I should probably update my profile... I haven't been SMC of the SPDG for months, nor the PR Officer for the DIA... and Diego Clemente has probably been dead for centuries in this game.

btw... I've had trouble getting into 'poly over the past few days. This is the first time I haven't gotten a "cannot find page" error when I tried to go to www.apolyton.com

Has anyone else been experiencing that or is it just me?

Yea - Arnelos is back! (?)

Good to see you again. I was starting to wonder if you survived that awful winter.

Quick updates (from my perspective):

PtWDG - GS kicked Vox off their continent; Vox is going to settle on an unused part of Lego's land; GoW/RP/ND have had peace for a long time, which may change as GoW and ND will soon get the UUs. RP is poised to become very powerful as we complete our final settlement push, but we are underarmed at the moment.

ISDG - Going well. After a horrifically unlucky start, we have made good use of what we were given, and have played the diplomatic game very well (good job Togas!). I don't want to say more, as not all RP team members are on our side in the ISDG. Check out the ISDG forum for more.

SPDGII - Boy, the cards were stacked against us early. We held off an early attack by the Ottomans and captured a city of theirs instead. After a short peace we redeclared war on them and took some decent cities of theirs. We have peace now and are building up for a war on the Iroq. The FAM office just pulled off a massive whoring which garnered many techs and maps. The game needs more participants though - it is having a tough time competing for attention with the other DGs.

PtWDGII - This is a more fun MP team DG. The teams are all based on silly/funny themes, and levity rules the day. Just got started (3800BC). Check out the forum for more information. The Game & Team Information Thread should answer any questions you might have about the game or teams.

It's not just you. 'Poly is really struggling lately. Slows to a crawl at least once a day, and goes down once a week. I don't know what the cause is. Avatars, flags, etc are the first to go (missing) when it starts to slow down.

Hey, I got the save file from Togas, but I get an error when loading it. I guess there must be a new patch or something?

Ah, yes, 1.21 finally became available worldwide, so we upgraded.

Ok, I've updated my post in the character thread. My new character, who is the heir to the previously lost house of Clemente, is one Francisco Clemente.

Francisco is sorta wondering what sorts of positions are available or he should seek out in the near future.

Isn't it amazing? The day that I finally am able to come back here I find that the famous Arnelos is also back!

I'm very happy to see you here again, I'll allways remember that you were one of the people that helped me at my begining in Poly. It was just 7 months ago, but it seems a lot more time. I was really missing you and hoping that you would come back and recover from this strange virus called real life, until the same virus took me away!

Welcome back, and hope that you stay.

Oh, just one more thing. Could you give us some hint about this politics that have keep you busy?
