You can buy into the propaganda if you wish, but neoconservatism is about spreading democracy and freedom (which includes capitalism) around the globe. It's SOLELY a foreign affairs ideology.

For example those that wanted to go into Iraq to take out Saddam and instill a better regime would be neocons. Those that wanted to go in there for oil would be more realists (ie, for our interests)... which are on the other side of the IR line from neocons.

No, I'm basically a NeoConservative. I just have some realist ideas as well (dealing with balance of power and SOMETIMES our interests).

As with every other political sphere I take from both extremes and thus, by default, I guess, I turn into a moderate .

Although I consider myself more a liberal in IR, but one more willing to use force, which makes me, for all intents and purposes, a NeoConservative.
