	Skills you want to learn Support Apolyton, buy Galactic Civilizations: Deluxe Edition

Doesn't have to be important skills, or any job related things. What would you like to learn, and perhaps by learning it you could do something entirely different?

I'd like to learn to sail properly. Real sailing.. In a big boat, and then with a smaller one too. There's something about the sea that .. I just have to do it some day. I'd like to be able to buy a small sailing boat some day, and then sail in the sea when sky is blue, it's warm and no one is around. Well you have seen movies....
Just me and my wife, or me and my friends. Would be perfect.

So, what skills you want to learn?

Also nothing wrong with modern boats, yachts and stuff, but if I had choice, I'd take a real sailing boat. My grand father used to be top sailor in my age, competiting and doing great in national level. He promised to take me and my cousin sailing and teach us, but we never got to it. It's too bad, now he can't do it anymore, and I know he would have loved to teach us. And we wanted to learn too. So .. but I promise to myself that some day.. some day I'll get my own, or if I'm unable to buy, then hopefully someone will teach me.. but I'm going to learn!

i want to learn some languages (spanish and arabic mostly), but i'm crap at them so it probably will never happen.

i wouldn't mind learning to cook as well, like difficult stuff, not sticking some pie and chips in the oven

i wish i had the skill of precise coin flipping. As i flip the coin, i could estimate EXACTLY how much force to apply to get either a head or a tail, whatever i want. Boy, would i get the girls then.

Azazel, cool. I'd like to learn survivor skills others than the terrain I'm used to (forrest of many kinds, winter) like desert, the mountains.. that would be something I like. Hey, maybe you can teach me surviving in your conditions and I teach you surviving in here . Then we can also exchange knowledge on weapons handling and martial arts too.

About tantric sex.. let's not go into that one.

I love to write, fiction, I guess thats why I enjoy Civ-type games.

I would however like to learn more composition skills/grammar skills/better vocabulary.

I wish i had not quit school at 16.

I would love to get more basic skills of math and english.

But, @ 44 I still try learning-as-I-go

Additionaly, I have enjoyed trying to write some code, would love to learn more!

At 48 you lost a lot of opportunities, but if I could do it all over again:

-to be able to draw as good and to write stories as good as Carl Barks
- to be able to read ancient Egyptian
- to be able to sing as Sinatra
- to be able to just write one story like Edgar Allen Poe

And after all that all I have to do is die and be forgotten...

Hueij and Grandpa Troll, you're never too old to expand upon a knowledge base or build a brand new one. Regret over not starting sooner only helps in that it spurs you *not* to hesitate to learn things *now.* You don't have to write/paint/code for a living, or create anything saleable; you have to be willing to do it for it's own sake, or for a more complete you.

I used to write and draw all the time as a kid, kept it up through college and beyond, but it's something I haven't done for a few years. I'm starting to exercise those skills again, and will try to keep at them this time. At the very least I used to create art to amuse myself and my friends; I really want to be able to do it again.

Aside from brushing off long-unused talents/knowledge, I'd like to learn another language (possibly Italian), learn a coding language, learn statistics, learn locksmithing, expand upon my cooking skills, and possibly joining the volunteer ambulance service.

You're only too old to learn when you're dead.
