i'd just like to add that none of this would have ever happened had Kobe been loyal to his wife...
may this be a lesson to everyone.

yeah 2pac had similiar problems too... except he never was accused of the actual act of rape as far as i know... only for aiding other men rape that woman.
DMX also had a rape case... so did Styles P (he in jail right now for it)... what is this? the thing for famous black men to do? rape women? oh well...

yeah. years ago... when he first became big. and yeah, he's supposed to be retiring (but so was Jay-Z and Ja Rule but nothing came of that) and his 'last album' was supposed to be released several months ago but it's still been delayed with no release date so far. apparently, you'll see DMX in a few more movies before he retires from rap to... yes... to pursue his acting career.
but yeah, it's amazing how many rappers have had movies. it's a standard in the industry and the thing is, almost none of them can really act. Ice Cube and 2pac was just about it (maybe Ice T and LL Cool J deserve a little credit though)... 2pac apparently took acting classes in high school so he was the first rapper to be in a non-gangster role. but the point is, rappers always end up actors but bad ones

I never thought otherwise. But they obviously aren't destitute. You are more likely to run into a celebrity in this area (Eagle and Pitkin counties) than you are in Hollywood. Hollywood has more celebrities, but it also has a lot more people. I'm sure this girl has met more than a few celebrities working at that resort. I include this info mainly to counter the "she saw an opportunity and jumped on it" crowd. She's has plenty of opportunities if she were so inclined. I also doubt that she managed to talk the other girl at the front desk in perjuring herself on the spur of the moment as you suggest. It is much more likely that she really was crying, whether from being raped or regretting having concensual sex.

Second I just heard today she didn't go to the police right after it happened. She went home. This is common after rapes. but it also gave her time to self inflict any kind of "injuries" Kobe might have done to her. And yes, women have done this before. Women aren't innocent little things, they are manipulative. Now if they find bruises and scratches on Kobe- that is different- that would probably mean he is guilty. |
The fact that the sheriff and the prosecutor both seem to think he is guilty is a fair indication that there is more evidence than that which indicates that Kobe merely had sex with her. I'm not absolutely sure that he raped or sexually assaulted her, but the odds are more than likely that he did. The prosecutor isn't going to waltz into court with a half-assed case against the sort of defense team a mega-wealthy man can put together. We'll obviously know more about what kind of case he has once he has presented it, but he doesn't seem like a fool.

But you do have to wonder why Kobe didn't use a condom. That may be an indicator he did rape her. Because if he was just cheating, he would use a condom right? You don't want to get the girl pregnant. Although other NBA stars cheat all the time and don't use condoms, so I won't put it past Kobe to be stupid and not use a condom for consensual sex with someone other than his wife. |
One would assume you are correct about the condom. Aside from the getting the girl pregnant and suffering the embarrassment from a paternity suit, there is also the chance that he would bring a venereal disease home to his wife, which doesn't sound like a smart plan either. Whatever happened, it sounds like it was somewhat spontaneous. Perhaps the painkillers he was on following his surgery played a role in clouding his judgement.
The fact that there has been a concerted effort to smear this girl's reputation from before the prosecutor announced the charge also seems to indicate that the defense has reason to worry. He'll have his trial though, and he stands a good chance at aquittal even if he is guilty. All it will take is one juror to doubt the girl's testimony, and she'll have to take the stand and face cross examination.

haha... check out these fitting lyrics from Kobe featuring Tyra Banks (of all people)...
quote: [Tyra]
Kobe, how many girls have said "I love you?"
Not like 'I love you Kobe!' like a fan
But like, for real, like, baby, marry me
I love you
[Kobe]
You're sweet
Once again (Once again)
Flawless (Flawless)
C'mon
Right
Uh, uh huh
Yo, yo, it's like this
Uh, what I live for? Basketball, beats and broads
>From Italy to the US, yes, it's raw
I'ma search for the one that make my wealth feel poor
Who can ignore the spotlight life of Grandma
My downfall is how I found the aura, so I searched in
There's plenty of women with sex appeal when it's filled
Can even complete the package, all I date is actresses
Can play it safe with them, my money ain't bait
But I must take risks to find a honey that's legit
Whether she push a buck and a six, bumpin' some mad chips
Out on her own, or live out of moms and pop's home
Watch time, fashion, Adidas attire or Timbo's
I don't know, yo, these women come and go
Like the wind they blow, how do I know it's you for sure?
When God talk to me, give me a signal
But until then, all my ears hear, just let me flow
C'mon
1- [Tyra Banks]
K-O-B-E, I L-O-V-E you
I believe you are very fine
If you give me one chance, I promise to love you
And be with you forever more
K-O-B-E, I L-O-V-E you
I believe you are very fine
If you give me one chance, I promise to love you
And be with you forever more
[Kobe]
Check this out though
Real love last, now do you love me or my cash?
My name, fame, drop top, Benz or the wooden dash?
You know my stash, from Georgie cash
Platinum, US express, no paper cash
Spend it all now, or kiss to be rich cash
Hash, stocks and bonds, laugh when they crash
Are you the type that brag the jewels you flash
The type-type with your ex-man and push his Jag
The type that love no scrubs or pigeons and got mad
The type that can't stand a women with her own cash
You know, like lime, claim she ain't rat
The type that get loud in public, refrain my hand from a slap
No time for y'all, too busy for y'all
Plenty of dimes turn me on and turn me off tryin' to show off
Get lost, grow up, real women, roll up
Let yourself go, if you feel this, let me know
C'mon
Repeat 1
[Tyra] [Kobe]
K-O-B-E, I L-O-V-E you Bounce wit' me, bounce wit' me
K-O-B-E, I L-O-V-E you Right, right, uh, uh, uh
[Kobe]
Think ya eyein' me, all along, I'm eyein' you
The hunter becomes the hunted, girl, I'm preying on you
Beautiful, the feelings we share are mutual
Passion that's telling me so for us is suitable
Un-controllable desire flows through me
When you say my name, such lust in your slang
No time for games, the games I play, all the same
Can't get witcha, when the door hitcha, when the Lord splitcha
I figure, hour-glass figures could be dangerous
Cuz if your time runs out, they frame you for your clout
And having a past, well, I stereotype glass
All dimes ain't money, ass, and feignin' for a brother's cash
Slash fame, slash power, slash repsect
All of the above, makes me a supreme threat for scrubs
Love but do you want? One more 'gain, let me know
The words flow, from the bottom of your soul

about kobe bryant:
this is pathetic. any celebrity is at risk of being accused of anything and even if it comes out that he's not guilty his reputation is at least slightly destroyed.
like, i could claim that bill gates raped my grandma and the media would buy it. then the next day you would see on CNN this big story about bill gates was a rapist and so on....
then again, only truly pathetic people pull this **** anyways
(i don't have any actual clue on if Kobe actually did rape her. Doesn't seem like it.)

Question: If Kobe just had consentual sex with the girl (as he claims), why in the hell did he not use a condom?! We know he did not use one, since there is apparent DNA evidence. Did he not learn from Magic??
Anyways, the lack of a condom is a minor boost to the girls story.

According to an article today in the Denver Post
quote: EAGLE - The alleged victim in the Kobe Bryant sexual-assault case suffered obvious physical injuries that are still apparent three weeks after the incident, a friend told The Denver Post on Monday.
"She had been hurt, there's no question about it," said Luke Bray, a high school friend who said he has helped take care of the woman since the June 30 incident. |
http://www.denverpost.com/Stories/0...1525789,00.html
If what the friend is claiming is accurate, it definately looks like Kobe did it, and he'll probably end up with some jail time. It seems highly unlikely that injuries still visable 3 weeks after the fact were self inflicted by the victim.
Incidentally, the supposed picture of the girl going around the internet is actually of someone else with the same first name living in Eagle.

Do you not think those injuries are self-inflicted? She's suicidal! And yes suicidal people tend to injure themselves even if they don't actually committ suicide. Many women will cut themselves on parts of their bodies when they get to that point. |
That badly is pretty unusual. She also would have only relatively little time to do such. Suicide attempts usually involved much more pre-meditation than she had when she was examined by medical personel after the fact. Women also tend go go for pills and the like rather than more violent methods of harming themselves when committing suicide.
The real kicker is that medical experts can take a look at injuries and determine how they were inflicted. Injuries inflicted by knives look significantly different than scratches. If she gouged herself with her own fingernails, it would leave a different pattern than if it was done by someone else. The time she would have had to find someone else to make these injuries would be pretty minimal, and finding a conspirator is both difficult and potentially a major way she could have been caught if she had planned to extort money from Kobe. (All the evidence I've seen suggests this was esentially a chance encounter that day and not something she could have planned for weeks even if she wanted to.) An attempt to have someone else cause the injuries after the fact would also likely be caught by discrepancies between them and what would occur with a sexual assault.
If the report is true, and the injuries appear to have been inflicted during the sexual act according to the medical examiners, this could be the piece of evidence that turns the case into a strong criminal case against Kobe rather than simply one individual's word against another. Note, sex this rough would seem to be highly unlikely to occur in the first sexual encounter between two essential strangers.

It sounds like the Sheriffs are quite careful about where they take individuals involved with potential sexual assault cases to be examined.
"Sheriff's spokeswoman Kim Andree on Wednesday said the department uses hospitals in Glenwood Springs and Vail for tests in sexual assault investigations
Andree confirmed that the alleged victim also went to a hospital, but wouldn't say whether deputies took her."
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,91580,00.html
"At about 2:30 the next morning, under police supervision, a taxi van took Bryant and three men about 83 kilometres (52 miles) to Valley View Hospital in Glenwood Springs, although a hospital in Vail was only 13 miles away."
http://au.news.yahoo.com/030710/19/kt0w.html
There does not appear to be a hospital in Eagle that the victim could have gone to. I can tell you that Vail is a place with one of the highest average housing prices in America, and the hospital certainly is well equiped with qualified personel. Kobe went to Vail specificly because of the reputation of the man who operated on his knee. Glenwood Springs has a tradition of being a place people have gone to for medical treatment, and Kobe would not have been taken all the way there unless the facility was well equiped to deal with sexual assault cases.
I'm also certain that the medical examiners took careful shots of the injuries on the victim from every angle. These pictures could be examined by the most qualified medical personel in the country who could then render their verdicts on how they were inflicted.

Here's a followup to the last story with the same individual.
quote: Bray refused to give details of what he called "the attack" because of requests from the woman's family and her attorney. But Bray said the woman has obvious physical injuries that are still visible three weeks after the incident.
"I can't wait for this to get in front of a jury so they can see what happened," Bray said. "Their jaws will hit the floor, and they will convict him." |
