The cat, as always, was right in its assumptions which it had shared with Comrade Jamski as he stood, painting the ceiling, on a ladder which wasn't really needed as the ceiling was only 6 feet and 1 inch high which was really quite easy to reach with an outstretched had without the assistance of the ladder which was the reason for the large bump now appearing on the back of Jamski's head as the inevitable result of straightening his back too suddenly, startled as he was by the voice of his cat calling to him from insde the large and dangerous-looking ceramic boiler in the corner of the, as yet still unpainted, living-room, leading to the forceful collision between his head and the equally unpainted ceiling only inches above it with a solid thumping sound, reminicent of a millitary bass drum struck soundly in the centre of its taut drumhead with a large, heavy and well felt-padded beater, and this was the noise that echoed though Jamski's head forming a curious, and unusually painful, counterpoint to the sound of the talking cat and his own bellow of surprised pain, both from the collision, and from the realisation that not only coud the cat talk, but he told the truth too, and the realisation that he would never be finished with that ceiling hurt almost as badly as the concussion and the ringing in his ears.
