	Those Patriotic Republicans Tired of ads?

How about that? Someone in the Bush administration outed a covert intelligence officer to get retribution. The agent in question is the wife of the former diplomat who went public with his non-covert mission to find an Iraq-Niger uranium link.

Of course, by outing the agent, they put every foriegn contact she's ever had in danger. Nice shootin' Tex! Now possible informants in the war on terror have this as an example of how the US assures that their assistance does not get around.

Anybody stupid enough to vote for Bush at this point should be hit in the head.

Come on, Republicans! Defend this little action by your bud ...

Yeah, assuming the story is true and that Bush or Cheny was behind it, I'd say impeach the scumbag. But from what I've heard from a former CIA operative, members of both parties have done this kind of crap, so I'd be surprised if we see a genuine inquiry.

"worse hypocrites"? Hypocrisy is hypocrisy, the only distinction that can be made is how obvious it is, and that's more of an indictment of those who are less observant.

He's a major conservative pundit, columnist for the Chicago Sun Times (IIRC) and cohost of CNN's crossfire. He's a journalist, not an operative.

The point was that two senior administration officials spilled the beans to Novak, a journalist, about Wilson's wife, who is an active operative. If that isn't just a weeeee bit of a bad move, I don't know what is!

You apparently didn't get the in my post, Berz. Both sides have hypocrites. For example, many Soviet leaders were hypocrites. the reason, I think, Communism hasn't worked yet is that those leaders (Stalin, Mao, Mugabe) were hypocritical, They claimed leadership for the good of the people but grew rich on the blood of others, That is why I like Democratic control by the workers themselves. the same goes with conservative leaders (Franco, Mussolini, etc.).

A much more reasonable comment (I'm shocked ), but one that doesn't consider the fact that communism ignores human nature. What's the saying about the corrupting influence of power? Once these "workers" appoint people to represent them to increase the efficiency for making their desires known, you'll end up with an elite class with more power. That's the lie of communism - we the ruling elite only care about you the little people.

The USSR did not have a system of checks and balances, so there was nothing the real comies could do to stem the rise of the Oligarchic Portiburo(sp?) even though the USSR techincally had a parliment, the lack of checks and balances let the elites squash democracy with the Police and Millitary. Remember that I am an Anarcho-Commie. My Idea of Government is similar to the one in the Sci-Fi novel Blue Mars, called Polyarchy, many rule, basicaly a very decenteralized Democratic Socialism.
