	Foreign Faction Observations Suffering from ads?

Well there's definitely something going down with the Pirates. They've logged on 3 times and still haven't posted the turn. Also there has been some unusally high activity from the University.

I've been watching the various people logging in and out.

What do you think the activity is about?
* Pact?
* Trading?
* Treaty?
* War?

I think the pirates are still in negotiations with the CyCon. The CyCon held the turn for a while and they did their turn a couple of hours before they posted it.

If you change people's post be obvious that it's someone else that's speaking. There's a whole lot of difference between me bad mouthing another faction from when you do it.

Wow, Comrade Kody, I'm really impressed with your secret police skills. That was some tough job watching people logging in and out.

IIRC Cycon had conquered a couple bases (according to Googliegod) who was the enemy? Now think about Pirates. They can't simply pact with everybody can they? First Cycon then Drones then Univ? Nooo, doesn't sound like it. Maybe they traded tech with Cycon, is in talk with Drones and in war with univ. ... Too much speculation. It's no use. We'll find out when we find out.

Well I think they're currently in talks with the University, that's what I can see, and I think they have some kind of alliance with the CyCon.

I agree they won't go pact or ally with everyone, but it doesn't mean they won't trade with everyone.

I just realised.

The pirates could have already met the drones and the University. The Drones are smart enough to hide such a meeting.

Its a bit earry in the game still, at the moment, wars are being fought primarily for short term gains and are largely oportunistic, this is because there is not much understanding of the word in general. Once complete contact is established, then bygones will largely be bygones as the big picture is revelared and Foreign Policy gets evaluated. Its still a bit early to fear if any of these pacts will be permamnant, though it is possible.

I think you're correct. On more than one front.
The CyCon and pirates may not pact this early on.
Obviously we're doing the exception by asking to pact with the drones.

Manic downloaded the new turn and immediately started posting to his forum without posting the turn.

Because I was waiting for the next turn.

I noticed Manic posted, tried to go to it and found it was a private forum post. So I checked the turn update and found he had downloaded the turn. About 30 minutes later he posted again.

Then about 3 hours after downloading the turn he logged off.

We're pretty sure the pirates have got something going with the CyCon. Also we're pretty sure that they've met the University.

Lets go over the possibilites.

If they contacted Miriam, they wont get far, but they probably are trying to get what little new tech she has.

If they contacted the Angels, then they will probably try and work some sort of tech exchange.

If they contacted CyCon, then they will probably get a treaty and a tech and map combo trade.

If they contacted The Drones then they may or may not know about our contact with them, they may be aware of us but not vie versa, or Buster could be withholdign them us from them as well.

If they contacted Uni then they will porbably get trades and peace traties as well.

I dont see naythign to be worried about yet.

Also, a lot depends on wher ethey are geographically and who it is they have contacted, once we have more data, then we can determine just how much of a threat they are

It doesn't work with the Uni, they'll NEVER make a pact with us, and I hope we'll never need to They're certainly not to be considered as neutral.

Oh I am all for milking everyone for tech by Diplomacy, we just need to hope we have some allies so we dont have the entire world hate us for evil Diplomacy.
