When I was in the army many of the married guys had a "if she doesn't know it won't hurt her" policy while on over seas trips. I don't think I could do that if I was married but you never know until you're standing in their shoes.

Yeah, its a problem. My whole ship was mad at my CO when we pulled into the PI and he met his "PI family" on the pier. And he had a little baby on the way at home. Plus he was a bastard. And not that smart.

This guy is an idiot for making it into a public show. All it takes is one pissed off moment at the officers club and his wife knows about it or else some guy tells his wife and word works its way back through the support network.

If you're going to **** at least be smart enough not to **** where you sleep and bury it when your done.

I agree. The troops also expect some sort of moral leadership from the old man. They may love to curse him and all, but to find out that kind of behavior, really drops him down. I heard it second hand, (was the WP before I hit the boat), and I don't know how public it really was. But the whole boat knew it from the rumor chain. I don't think his wife ever heard though.

I am a ratbastard myself. finally got my act in gear to look for tickets. They are too high. figured I could use miles, but those are all taken too. Hate the airlines. Really wish one would go bankrupt.

I had a voucher on United, but it had to be redeemed 2 weeks ahead and I screwed that up as well.

I know I'm a slug, but would have been good to get out of Richmond.

Watch plus stuffed animal sounds like a good solution. "several hundred" might be a bit much, but you get points for knowing she needs one.

For future reference, check out Appalachian Spring for plenty of good jewelery in the $80 to $200 range. The sales people are very good, so you don't have to know much. They probably have one at Tysons or Fair Oaks. Appalachian Spring has always come through for rme.

Couple points here.

It's pretty open and shut for me. I'm not going to sleep with anyone except for my wife, so cheating would not really enter the equation until I get married.

After me and my SO/partner/boyfriend have discussed this and we agreed that we were to be exclusively committed.

If after this discussion, he has slept with someone else, or I have slept with someone else, then the commitment is broken. Obviously it's cheating.

If there is that kind of lack of communication between the two, what kind of relationship would it be, anyway?

But if there were two people who have been serious for quite some time without even discussing their relationship then I think the assumption of both of them would be that they are in an exclusively committed relationship.
