It's quite obvious the state goverment in texas is corrupt in the extreme, and I see little which is going to change that situation

We should kick Texas, California, and Wisconsin out of the Union. That should make everyone happy.

You mean like the Democrats have been gerrymandering since the 1860s?

After all, it's been stated that the worst gerrymandering job in the country after the 90 census was the one the Dems did in Texas.

Let me ask you boys something.

One flag is authorized in the United States to fly at the same height as the U.S. flag.
What do you think it is?

Yeah! That's right. Texas.

And are you so desperate that you've reduced your counterings to rants about peices of cloth?

Thanks, Japher.

But as this is Texas flag code and not American flag code, who gives a ****? Couldn't any state pass such a hypersectionalist law like it?

Now, if FEDERAL law authorized it, I'd be satisfied. But as it is, it's nothing more than ridiculous state = nation or state > nation pride.

There is no Federal Law that states whether or not the state flag must fly lower than the US flag if flown separatly.

I read that it is a myth to think that this right is bestowed only on Texas for it is not. Most states keep their flag below the American flag, but most states aren't Texas ...

I did notice that the treaty that would of admitted Texas into the union held a clause similar to the Flag Law, and stating that no Federal Ruling could change that law. However, that treaty was never signed...

Actually, it said most don't have laws regarding the height, or something, I lost it, but it did use most... Yet, it was refering to their being a law... I assume that Texas is the only state that states that it must be flown at the same height.

Back in the 60's the Dems were as racist and corupt as the Republicans are now. Shrub made himself dictator when he was governor, that is why there are no checks and balances.

SlowwHand, the goal of a political discussion is usually to convince the other side that you're right, not to release cheap flames and trolls.

EDIT: And oh yeah, just to make sure (I don't have any data on it myself) could you give me a source for that Texas immigration data that says most new people are from outside the state?

Houston might have a few California liscence plates or whatever, but we actually need data instead of just small, localised anecdotal observations. Yeah, sure, I see plates from places like Oregon in Arkansas, but does that mean we've had this sudden influx of Oregon citizens?
