Missing: Misty Gallegos

Missy Gallegos was grabbed Tuesday night from an Aurora street by a known gang member.

Missy Gallegos is 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighs 125 pounds. She was last seen wearing a blue and white t-shirt, dark blue shorts and silver earrings.
Gallegos has a scar on her right leg and had the letter “M” written in marker on her left calf. Police are looking for Armando Jorge Perez-Vera, 26. He also goes by the nickname of "Cholo." Authorities said he may be armed. He is 5 feet 8 inches tall and 175 pounds. He has a tattoo on his right wrist.

Anyone with information on Gallegos or Perez-Vera is asked to contact their local law enforcement authority.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Aurora CO PD at 303-739-6050 or dial 911.

It is rather amazing who well the Amber Alert system actually works.

People who assume that they can never do anything about anything are usually wrong, and this system has proven it to many.

I hope they/we find her, everyone between Aurora and the boarder need to keep their eyes peeled. These idiots always run for the boarder.

If someone I knew WAS a victim of an abduction, I'd hope we'd have a system in place that made sense. This national Amber Alert is a good idea, but is being implemented in the wrong way. It should focus more on local levels, rather than the national levels. I'm sorry, but some girl taken in Colorado has little chance of arriving in my neighborhood. These alerts should be announced in locales in which the girl has a chance of being in. And announcing the Amber Alert in an online gaming forum is just plain stupid. Oh wait, I'm sure she'll turn up in Israel... better PM Eli and Siro!!!

This system will quickly become a "wolf crying" game.

But I rarely pay attention to people, so I doubt I will notice.

Unless they show up in my living room, this amber alert is worthless to me.

of course, that is why we have the amber alert.

but do you really think Apolyton is going to spot them? We only have a few U.S. posters spread about the entire country.

Though I should mention I have a higher chance of spotting them, as many criminals flee to Las Vegas. But there's so many people in my city, not to mention hispanics. The chances me of spotting one out of many is slim.

And Sloww, I know your Texas black and white thought mentality may be leading you to believe that I think the Amber Alert sucks; but that's not what I am saying at all. In fact, the system is sound, it just needs improvements. My criticisms are quite valid. These alerts should be issued in areas where the girl and suspect might be... not on a national level without sufficient evidence. That's all I'm saying. But I'm under the impression that you think I'm so heartless bastard that doesn't care about finding abducted children. That couldn't be farther from the truth.

But when you are trying to spot somebody, it helps to use race to spot them.
