Incensity will be at 8 SPT, and Bananatopia will be 6-8 SPT depending upon which tiles we work. We can get Apolyton to 10 SPT, but it costs Ming a bunch of tiles, drastically lower its SPT output. We can get Apo, Ming and Inc at 8 SPT and Nana at 7 SPT at the same time.
Just some numbers to chew on for those curious folk out there. |
Maybe we should consider abandoning a couple of cities (or just moving them) to allow a greater production for the individual cities. Our cities are placed VERY close to eachother, which of course is an advantage when you have small cities, but a big disadvantage if you want to have more powerful production cities. I don't think we'll have a chance getting a wonder when the cities are so close together.
Reason for Algalord's #1 position: I don't think it can be because GCA has improved the city (well maybe they have build a temple, but Århus probably has a temple too, and Alga has no wonder). Maybe it's because the Århus Team (can't remember their name) has gone into anarchy?

Karina and Mingapulco can be abandoned untimately without losing the use of any of the squares they could potentially use (i.e. some other city would still be able to use them). As for a few of the others, we could simply purposely let their growth stagnate and use them to pump out setters when needed so that the others can grow enough so the they can build the later improvement, units and wonders in a manageable amount of time.

I see no reason to abandon any cities until Hospitals (edit: other than, of course, the temp city!). All cities will be productive enough once Jungle is cleared that they merit being part of empire.
If we want a Wonder city we can have one by giving it tiles from the adjacent cities, which will have to make do with a fewer number of tiles.
Remember that bigger cities require upkeep in the form of happiness improvements. It would put a serious speed bump in our plans if we had to build Cathedrals at this point. We're better off Shield-wise and Commerce-wise to keep our cities at a relatively low size (for now).

Hot_Enamel, it certainly is puzzling that GF has delayed giving us Feudalism, but it would be even more puzzling if the reason he did it was because he wanted to help GCA. Remember, GCA are the guys who knocked them out of the game! I would rather attribute the delay to a simple mistake.

After doing some calculation last night, we will need a total of 660 Gold to upgrade ALL of our warriors/swords. That is 200 for the 10 swords that we currently have that can be quickly upgraded, 40 for the 2 swords on the galleys (when they get home) and 420 for the 7 warriors (6 reg, 1 elite).
For the war effort, I would like to have 260 for upgrades and a researve of 120 for emergency upgrades (2 warriors to MI's) for a total of 380. We currently have 46 gold, so we will need 334 total built up to reach this target. At an assumed 26GPT income (Trip was talking about 24 to 28, middle of the road), it will take 13 turns to get built up to this point. If we want to upgrade everything, then that will be an additional 10 turns needed to do that.
This is assuming that we wait until our forces are at the optimal point before we attack and get our GA triggered. This time will also allow us to get our second army group properly fleshed out and even have a better mobile reserve.
Just for everyone's figures, that will mean that D-day is 13 turns and an assumed anarchy of 4 turns, for a total of 17 turns away.
[EDIT] Oh, we can be thankful that we have Mercs, as we would also be looking at upgrading our defencive units, too.

CDG's one dying wish was that we and CFC team up on CDG. I think if we can be certain of one thing with CDG, it would be doing whatever they could to screw GCA, althogh GF is as ever somewhat of an random factor. |
MrWIA,
While it was CDG's dying wish that Apolyton and CFC do something about GCA and much of the team wants to move on to other teams, GhengisFarb is now in charge, not the rest of the team that made those decisions.
I will agree that GhengisFarb is not a moron. However, he definately IS erratic as well as having a certain... penchant... for taking his pieces and going home when he gets upset... While we might like to assume that it's logical that he would follow through with the way the rest of his team saw as the way to hurt GCA (helping Apolyton and CFC), GF may be looking at things differently and just operating based upon his own personal view of the situation now.
As for his personal view, I wouldn't put it past him for that to be screwing with Apolyton as much as GCA.
