Nah. It'd just take an extra command to set a background and I don't bother to use one every time I run X (and I don't like .xinitrc ).

my new desktop picture. This is a picture I took myself up at lake Tahoe region. This isn't Lake Tahoe though, it's a little pond called granite lake. The qualtiy is distorted because this was a scanned picture I stretched to fit my desktop.
