We had a similar case some days ago here in the city of Hamburg. A guy named Schill, founder of the so-called Schill party (perhaps not extremist, but certainly far right) resigned from his job as deputy mayor of Hamburg after it came out that he tried to blackmail the mayor with (false) details about a homosexual affair.

It is always funny how those guys think they get away with such nonsense.

This is actually very good news. According to the BBC website version, the one who resigned has claimed the fight was started by one of Nick Griffin's (head of the BNP) minders. Possibly the fact they have had some small success has gone to some peoples heads and they have started arguing amongst themselves. Hopefully we can look forward to a complete collapse of the BNP in a welter of infighting.

I wouldn't underestimate the intelligence of people like Nick Griffin. Sure, the majority of BNP voters have all the intelligence of a park bench but at the core, people like Griffin are incredibly intelligent and know what they are doing. Utterly depraved, yes, but clever.

They'll never get anywhere in politics. However, like most other fringe parties, their voice will subtly shift the mainstream in that direction.

I'm sure EndisForever could show us the argument saying that it's actually only ever fringe parties that really affect modern democracies...depends how involved his course is though.

If you mean fighting in the army, its a little much to spin it like that because Britain didnt get involved beyond appeasement until its arse and treaty with poland was threatened. If people really wanted to defend the lives of jews, Britain would have done more in '33.

The problem with the BNP is that many/most of their policies are populist, conservative bull, clearly inspired by popular prejudices, patriotic fallacies and a far-right conservative agenda that even most conservatives would admit has all the functionality of a dead rabbit.

This is what you get when a party is largely inspired and populated by beer drinking retarded idiots (no offence Bodds), and not people who actually know what theyre doing. I dont deny that they represent the voice of many in Britain. The problem is that the people behind that voice have no idea how to run a country!
