The biggest problem i find with CTP2 is that your allies can start fighting with each other. I know nothing about programing so i put the question to those who do. Can CTP2 be modified for 3 party involvment in diplomacy.
THe most simple way i can think of is a request, that the country you select increase regard to another you select like the brake aggrement one. Their compliance would be determined by how much they hate the other nation and how much they like you.

That would work except that we can't add any new proposal types. When the source code is released it should be possible to rectify this (assuming that someone can figure out how to do it).

There's also a problem with the SLIC 'ConsiderNewProposal' function. We won't really be able to attack the diplomacy side of things very effectively until MrOgre finishes uncommenting the source code.

Track him down and buy him a beer or something. I'll stand a few rounds if he ever comes to Oxford.

3rd party intervention if two of, your allies declare war is a great idea, I think this was possible in SMAC |
You have the option to ask "Please make peace with civ X". I think it works only if the civ you ask is the one who attacked, but I am not sure. There could be also added as an option "Please ask civ Y to make peace with me (as in stop attacking me); I will give you that and that if they will make peace with me in maximum 5 turns"
