Three way diplomacy Help yourself to an AD-FREE life

The biggest problem i find with CTP2 is that your allies can start fighting with each other. I know nothing about programing so i put the question to those who do. Can CTP2 be modified for 3 party involvment in diplomacy.

THe most simple way i can think of is a request, that the country you select increase regard to another you select like the brake aggrement one. Their compliance would be determined by how much they hate the other nation and how much they like you.

Support Apolyton, pre-order Civilization IV

That would work except that we can't add any new proposal types. When the source code is released it should be possible to rectify this (assuming that someone can figure out how to do it).

A while ago I played around with break agreement for Diplomod (and later SAP). I can't remember the exact reason I scrapped it, but I think there was a bug in it which I couldn't fix (hard-coded in the exe).

Put an end to popups!

There's also a problem with the SLIC 'ConsiderNewProposal' function. We won't really be able to attack the diplomacy side of things very effectively until MrOgre finishes uncommenting the source code.

Hmm i agree gaiastate, 3rd party intervention if two of your allies declaure war is a great idea, I think this was possible in SMAC but i carnt remember its been that long since i played it. Also like Locutus says the source code is out now... so this can be done.... right?

somewhere in the chat they said proposals are enumerated. I have no idea really what that means but people seemed happy. maybe it means you can add new ones...

You have the option to ask "Please make peace with civ X". I think it works only if the civ you ask is the one who attacked, but I am not sure. There could be also added as an option "Please ask civ Y to make peace with me (as in stop attacking me); I will give you that and that if they will make peace with me in maximum 5 turns"

I think Mihai had a good suggestion. I'd like to see more diplomacy options that can ask for the AI to behave as opposed to just one on one deals. Like "make peace with X" or "ally to defend X" or "ally to attack X" or "trade city Z with civ X for $/turn" for those that want to play peace and stability games

hmm maybe there should be reputation points, peace points, or credibility for those that choose not to be warmongers to balance the game and provide other options. Warmongers can conquer cities but maybe your trade and happiness increases with peace since people prefer to invest in stable peaceful places...

Also you can build credibility points so if you are attacked by a country your credibility would encourage other countries to defend (or liberate) your civ...

New to this forum is what I meant.

Yes we need programmes but we also need artists, translators and idea men.

I also like the idea of three way diplomacy. SMAC did three way diplomacy if I think right you could ask an AI player to stop attacking your “friends” .

But liberation is a promising idea.

On the contrary, I think it's much better to bump an old thread than start a new one which only causes everything to be rehashed and wastes time.

Keep all the oil but the gas prices go up!

A third party trade agreement of sharing resources or dividing cities would be cool too ( Civ X you take cities A,B.C and resources D, E, F and I'l take the rest!)

Good idea - a steadly increase of trade income (maybe with a cap) for civ that are at peace. If you went at war of just cancel the Peace treaty, trade income drop to base value.

I am pretty experienced with Photoshop, so im here waiting for some tasks to be assigned

Also i have an infinite amount of ideas, but i feel the source code project is in too early a stage to post them at the moment

P.S. Why limit this to 3 way diplomacy ?
