Nice finish, Bunnyman!!

The World is now Scorched and Scourged--Cleansed even--and, therefore, finally and forever Safe.

Everyone-
It will be worth your time to d/l the final save and set it to Medium view. Click around the map and see what a Scorched Earth looks like.

Great ruleset and great game...

Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

I was going to empty all our cities and build the remeining WoWs but it would have taken 2-3 more turns to get everthing handled.

As it is, I managed to build SETI (in Lagomorphia, natch) and disband most of our troops. IIRC on our home continent, Lagomorphia is the only occupied city...

The map, with all the irrigation, fortresses, roads, and rails surrounding blank tiles (former cities) is indeed fairly amusing.

Exactly!!

The vast areas of depopulated, but developed, countryside is alternatively amusing, then, disquieting. This may be what Europe looked like after the Black Death.

Final Turnset Log Support Apolyton, buy Civilization 2

A new Patriarch ascends the Fundy hierarchy. -Jrabbit looks about, sees that the Council of Warlords holds Supreme power while maintaining and Excellent reputation. Sliders are set to 70-0-30, netting 628 GP/turn for our 12 cities. Out in the world, we see two Sioux cities (both with Chinese names ), three Greek cities, and one Barbarian (again, with chinese name).

First order of business is to begin work on a proper palace -- meaning, one located in Lagomorphia. Production is tweaked to allow a two-turn build. Sliders move to 80-0-20 (nominal increase in funds).

The military advisor reveals 14 spies already built, with a number of tanks, howies, and alpine troops also available. Status of remaining cities:

Sioux Cities are on the same continent as several of our cities, so troop trnasport is not a huge issue.
--Chengdu is already empy, needing reduction from size 5 to enable razing.
--Anyang is size 8, occupation flag still flying, but no access by road or for our navy.

Greek cities are inconveniently located, though we do have one-turn transport access from The Institute's port facility. Figure we'll need a turn to transport and another to attack. Need both militia and spies to take them out, as all cities are defended
--Marathon, the capital. Size 8, IIRC. Has city walls.
--Ephesos (5)
--Argos (7)

In addition to the Palace, we build Armor at The Institute, and 10 spies.

ENTER -- 1912
--AI tech trading. Greeks get Machine Tools and code Of Laws, sioux get Polytheism, Monotheism.
--Pollution at Lagomorphia.
--Spy details defenses at Marathon (3 defenders) and Argos (2 defenders + a dip).
--Chengdu grows to size 6. Spies poison the waters 5 times (2 captured). Convenient nearby tank RAZES the city.
--Sioux suggest a cease fire.
--Boatload of troops, spies land outside Marathon.

1913
--Sioux change gov't. We don't care.
--Nine more spies are completed, plus a transport.
--Palace completed in Lagomorphia. More pollution in Lagomorpia.
--Howies empty Marathon (down to size 6).
--Marathon water goes bad. Five times (four spies captured). City RAZED.
--Greeks chat, demand Robotics.
--Our cruisers empty Barb city of Shantung, get 150 GP for the leader. No ground troop access yet, but that's OK, since we want to learn if the game will end with a Barb city still extant...
--Anyang is relieved of its two alpine defenders, reducing it to size 6. Five of our spies do their thing. Two are captured. City is RAZED, yields 135 GP.
--The Sioux are toast.
--Ephesos is emptied, goes down to size 3.
--Shantung water supply poisoned twice, down to size 1. One spy captured.
--Annoying Greek settler outside former location of Marathon is bribed (268 GP) to enable troop movements.
--Engineers complete RR system to The Institute. Three of them Join City (now size 8).
--Sliders moved to 20-0-80.
--Troops massively move to Lagomorpia and are disbanded for their shields. Home continent cities now empty...

1914
--WTPatriarchD widely declared.
--Pollution in Spare Oval.
--Greeks make a final stand, taking out a couple howies near Ephesos. Inconvenient...
--What's a captial without a WOW? SETI completed in Lagomorphia.
--We have enough spies and militia, so various other improvements are started/built.
--Our Armor reaches Ephesos, removes it's alpine defender --> (2). Spy poisons the water, escapes. City is then RAZED (46 gp).
--Greeks demand a final audience, offering all their worldly possessions and intellectual achievements for a cease-fire. We fart in their general direction.
--Armor, howie empty Argos, reduce it to size 3. Spies do their thing (one captured), Flag still up. Spy sent in, learns it's just a dip. Our apline takes it out.
--The Greeks are destroyed.

Barb city of Shantung still standing. Game does not end!!
Shantung RAZED (7gp).
Game ends.

Civs destroyed:
1881 -- Mongols
1906 -- Egyptians
1909 -- Babylonians
1910 -- Chinese
1910 -- French
1913 -- Sioux
1914 -- Greeks

1,110 points, 144%, 199 citizens (mostly happy).

We will be remembered as:
Council of Warlords the Mighty.

Don't be a Dr Franken-steen, by trying to crawl under the bed, just because your creation tipped over some furniture on its way out the door.

Your games are complex, it's true; but, more importantly, they have been interesting. Keep it up, please.

Thanks for the kind words, SH and Monk. I have very little time to play, now, so I've been focusing on small maps when I do.

IF I can make time to come back here in a non half-assed way, I have some ideas for a small map game. And the turns won't take an hour each.

Monk - how are you feeling?

Thanks for asking and thinking of me. -JR was right when he remarked how much of a boost the thoughts of others bring. Things are tough presently but that's the way it goes. It makes things harder that I can not play much, and with the slow summer pace of SXN games, there is not much to talk about either.

I would love to play a small map game (or watch it unfold). Haven't gone small in a long time. How about a Challange Game instead of SXN?? Might generate some life around here.

Thanks, Old Man.

This should probably go in the 'Succession game proposals' thread, but I DO have a small map succession game in mind (aside: what's a challenge game? Does everyone play on their own and we see who wins first?). It'd be really quick, with one minor rule to add a teensy little challenge to it...

Depending on how this week unfolds, I may post a save if there's enough interest.
