Who just happened to shoplift a knife in the tool shop across the street and had the military knowledge to rotate the knife inside the belly to make maximal harm, then make sure that the knife had no traces of him when he dropped it. You'd be surprised at the hatred flowing from that camp. Police had to draw their weapons and fire 103 shots to defend themselves after a referendum we had in 1993.

Someone generally interested in killing people would probably be quite aware of this too, regardless of political or military interests. You know, there are plenty of "informative" books on how to kill/torture people available.

Why would any euro opposer be stupid enough to pull this stunt? The death of Anna Lindh became the tie-breaker reason the Swedes are going to approve the euro tonight. It's cynicism at its best, but if the euro opposers wanted to achieve something through violent means they should have killed off that Maud thing.

On a related note, what the hell is the Swedish media thinking putting a nine-minute long pro-Euro monologue by A.L on the air at this point and when both campaigns have been suspended? If what I read is correct it's a dirty trick for sure.

It would indeed be a development if your foreign minister's death would put that little extra weight towards the euro...

Exploitative and cynical, yes no doubt. But maybe in the minds of thepeople who are doing it, they don't want her death to go to "waste" but contribute to the future of Sweden and to do her wishes even after her death.

I didn't say the killer was acting rationally in any way.

I just pointed to a type of killer who in my view would have had the bigger motive.

And the killing will shift some votes of course, but in the end it will still be a no I fear, so relax already.

Yes, this campaign has been full of dirty tricks. One was Maud Olofssons decision to go and vote YESTERDAY at the post office and say something like "One good thing with Anna Lindh was her ability to accept the will of her opponents", meaning "don't change your vote to "yes" in tribute to Anna, go and vote "no", just like you planned". That little trick would not had the same effect if she pulled it today, when most people already voted themselves.

Another dirty trick was the suggestion by Liberal party leader Lars Lejionborg to put Anna Lindh on the Swedish Euro coins if there is a "Yes" majority.
