Mental Health funding isn't provided directly by the government, it goes through the regions like all health funding. And the Psychiatry Reform (which is the major part of the problem) was passed in June 1994 while we still had a Bourgeois goverment.

And the police have taken the homeless dude off the list of suspects.

It would turn out to be a very 'nice' development if mainstream society starts to look at the homeless as threats to not just their walk in the park but to their very lifes. More stigmatisation is probably not what the homless needs.

Exactly my thoughts too. But according to the news today, it's not really the funding cuts, but the change of policy. Instead of medication and locked institutions, they use discussion therapy and volontary treatment, typical leftist methods invented by those who deny the impact of biology on human behavior.

Now the Social Democrats want us to participate in manifestations and tourch marches against violence, when the real problem is the hippie (flum) politics the Social Democrats stand for.
