People may want to use Apple software, people may want to drive Ladas, I really don't give a damn.

I can still tell which is a better laptop. Apple uses cheap, heavy material and cheap, low-capacity batteries with cheap, low-performance CPU with cheap, low-res screens, and charge high prices.

For some people, it's worth it because it's a Mac.

For everyone else, we wonder why...

it's user friendly, not really ugly, and for me it's extraordinarily stable.
the reasons for crashes, according to microsoft data, are not because of their os, but rather because of bad drivers--and since microsoft doesn't control hardware manufacturers and cannot enforce the writing of good drivers, they definitely do not have the benefit that apple does.
you don't have to patch windows twice or thrice a day.

people use apples because they like apples and use apple software. they can also usually afford it, and they generally learned on it.
as for better looking and better designed, i can't say that i quite agree. it's slick, yes, but it comes with a lot of overhead. better designed? windows is quite well designed.
the headaches arise because you have people who don't take care of their computers. i've seen people who've made messes of their apples, which in turn causes their headaches. so really, i can't see why you pin the blame of O.H.S. and O.E. on the os manufacturer.
