In Scorched Earth, we were on a nice roll, but no one has played since Old n Slow on 10 March.

The play order is:

quote:
8 turns each.

1. STYOM (skipped)
2. Old n Slow
3. Sparrowhawk
4. Jrabbit
5 Ben Kenobi (skipped)
6. SG [1]
7. Julius Brenzaida

So Sparrowhawk, you're up!

In the near-eternal Lazy Summer game, it's 1954 and it's a total War race to the finish line, as the bad guys contemplate building spaceships!

duke o'york played most recently. Before him was La Fayette, preceded by myself.

The original playlist:

Old n Slow
atomant
Straybow
obiwan18 (Ben Kenobi)
Bob_Smurf42
-Jrabbit
La Fayette
Vlad Antlerkov

I think that means either Vlad Antlerkov or Old n Slow is next...

I've completed my turns in 2nd Sailing. (Fun!!)

Sparrowhawk is done in Scorched Earth , and truly singed a path of destruction. . (That makes it my turn, but I'm out of town starting tonight, probably unavailable until about April 3.)

Please bypass in all games until that time. (I may have a 3-day window in there, but something tells me RL won't permit it...)

My old computer died. No internet access at work. Had a big ice storm back in January, with folks who lost power for up to a week. My work with the tree service has killed my leisure schedule [rain today, only doing my night job]. Not complaining; I need the moolah.

When I got a new computer I had difficulty getting things transfered over ( #%&* XP). Would've been easier with the old computer working properly, instead I had to hook things up in ways that nature never intended. By the time I figured out some of the problems (including one all-nighter) I didn't want to look at my computer for a couple days.

I haven't even played a computer game since—when I try to relax at the computer I fall asleep. I have yet to d/l the driver I need to make Civ2 run on XP.

Near future doesn't look so good. My stepmom has had Alzheimer's for a while and now it seems there are big changes coming. My father has finally decided to move to a house that is better suited to caring for her.

This has been hard on Dad. Her children and my brothers all live far away, so I'm the only help at hand (I'm sure that's been hard on him, too, ).

I'll try to stay in touch. I really miss being involved here (sniff, sniff).

Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

I have just finished posting my log and save from Scorched Earth. I beleive that unless -Jrabbit decides to start building Caravans and get new techs that he will finish in the next turnset

quote:

5 turns each.

1. STYOM (skipped town )
2. Old n Slow Played
3. Sparrowhawk Played
4. Jrabbit
5 Ben Kenobi (off topic)
6. SG [1]
7. Julius Brenzaida

quote:
Originally posted by Six Thousand Year Old Man

Each player may only build one city and capture one city. The goal is conquest. In other words, all other AI cities must be razed - may can do this with Spy-poisoning or simply attacking the city until it is destroyed, or by capturing a size 1 city (destroying it, but still getting pillage).

Clarifications:

- Advanced Tribes must be reloaded, unless you haven't founded your one city and want the Tribe to be it.

- When you found your one city, you must give it a name that will readily identify it as yours. Anyone can build anything in anyone else's city (thus allowing a SSC if desired). Good natured mockery of each others' cities is highly encouraged.

- If the city you founded is somehow destroyed, you may not found another, but you may capture a second city from the AI. If the city you captured is destroyed... well... too bad

- Every player may play 10 turns to start, or longer if no good city sites are available (within reason ). If there isn't a Settler available when your turns start... do your best to found within a reasonable time. I'm trying to limit things to 10 turns so that we don't wait 100 turns to build 5 cities

After all players have played a round of turns, the second round will require a change of capital for each player (to that player's city, of course ) during that player's turns.

Having accidentally missed a compulsory test for illegal airbase construction, the duke has now served his lengthy ban and is raring to take up the reins (cudgel?) in service of Civ!

Where am I on any turn lists, or have all the games that I was in finished now?

Great to see you are back and ready to jump in again!!

Looking back a few posts to May22...

You are up in 2nd Sail.

-JR is up in Dirty.

Stu is still holding Seriously Tricky (extending the record for days between plays)

In the ROMP free-for-all...

Trajanus is the most recently released from the holding tank.
-JR is next out, then Bloody Monk, debeest, Grigor.
You, or any other player, are encouraged to play a round at any time.

The other games on that list are now complete!!

Put an end to popups!

Right on, Monk (re Ray Chas).

The new comp is up and running, though it's been more painful and time-consuming than predicted. I just need to install the (Mac) MGE 1.1 patch to be shared-game-ready.

Still resolving a few other comp issues (trying to extract ancient text files from the to-be-discarded Mac 6116CD machine so my daughter can inherit the iMac). This involves getting these disparate (OS 7.5 vs OS 9.2.2) machines to network so I can file-share. I now have the hardware/adapters, just have to hope the software cooperates.

Hope to get the MGE patch installed tonght, after which (later this week), I plan to get down and Dirty.
