I can make political maps again for this game like I did for HOTW2. I don't know how to make them progressive though.

I agree with Frank on the rules. Its a diplogame, we should just take care of things diplomatically rather than use a laundry list of rules and out of character punishments.

Raz, considering you already bought the game there would be nothing unethical I'd think in downloading a crack off of Kazaa or something. I suggest you do that so you can play tomorrow.

well i think if we wait till things occur we may find it ruins the game before we can do anything about it.

but i am open to anything, i am not here to win this game, i am here to enjoy the stories..

having been away from civving for nearly a year i am surprised at how much has changed, there are now prorgrams for downlaoding at civ 2 strategy for showing wher ethe huts and specials are located, these is the oedeo years of revolution to study...

so many loopholes that i cant be bothered learning nor would want to as it would take away my basic enjoyment of the game if it becomes a life time study...

if others wish to use all these sort of things fine go for it i peersonally beleive they arent in the spiriit of the game and are just another way fo cheating, others of course beleive that loopholes are there to be exploited and providing all know it ok....

so yeaah lets just play, i wil lhave fun and quixk turns, others will labourisly micromanage, check locations of huts etc, diplo guide, cara guide, food cheat etc etc, and will have long turns.....


may the person who enjoys this game most win ....

I don't care much for banning diplo guiding I guess, it just makes it a priority for defenders to secure roads so they can't be used to guide armies thru zoc. If we vote on it, I'd vote against any kind of guiding. However, the game was designed to allow units to move onto squares occupied by friendly units, and that is pretty much what guiding involves if you have a string of units. Ugh, okay, guiding is okay by me...

there is adiffernece in moving a unit onto another friendly unit and moving a unit via a chain and guiding it past the enemy.

Diplos were designed to sneak past enemy units using there stealth techniques. thereby bypassing enemy ZOC, but moving a complete army past without being stoped by enemy ZOC is not IMHO what the designers intended , i beleive they just overlooked the usag epeople would put this too. ZOC were implemented IMHO to make you have to fight the defenders as you passed them rather than bypassing them and destroying their home citys thereby destroying them anyway...

I can see people will be taking this pretty seriously so i hope this doesnt interfer with my fun......

Moker said he could sub for the Tartars this week, but I haven't spoken with him in the last few days, so it would be good to draft another sub just in case.

Also, do we want to restart the story thread? It is 3/4ths spam at the moment.

Who is hosting? I suppose I could do it, I have a high speed connection now. Sorta. As long as I don't crash and my computer doesn't melt down.

How about we allow paratrooper guiding.

Thats semi-realistic. They aren't ignoring ZOC, but are paradropping into a space and holding it in advance of the troops. Of course if I wanted to move through 5 squares of rail I'd need to drop 5 different paratroopers into the spots. So its not at all as easy as diploguiding.

And remember folks this is a diplogame. Try to behave as a natural empire or leader would behave. This means no to total war, and no to building all your cities on mountains and hills and such. Not that its a rule you can't, but come on, just be realistic.

Dont think the mods would like another thread, perhpas you can PM ming and get him to delete all the spam stuff and jsut leave mine and deitys story posts there....

Raz, I installed the program and the patch I sent you on my PC as a test and it all worked fine. It's just that you can't start a game until you have the crack (in lieu of the CD you bought and lost)

yeah tried all that deity, but no crack works with your version.. must be so many versions of the old civ2 floating round and hard to find right no cd crack.

I think your version is Civ2 Ultimate , most no Cd patches are for Gold Edition....

Ahh, that explains why I haven't got a crack to work!

Mind you I didn't try very hard cos I don't need it but was curious.

BTW.. An installed Civ2MP will load a game with ANY Civ2 CD in the drive inc ToT.

nope, only ever had the original civ 2 and then the MP edition but cant find either disk....
