PLAYER 'RAPED' TEENAGER

This has been reported on both BBC's Ceefax service and ITN news-

"A teenage girl has made a rape allegation involving a group of
Premiership footballers, it has emerged.
Several players are alleged to have been involved in an incident at a
west London hotel at the weekend.

The Sun reported that the 17-year-old consented to sex with a player
from one Premiership club - but that seven other players from another
team became involved.

The girl reported the rape to police in central London, Scotland Yard
confirmed.

The girl's claims are now being investigated by detectives on
Operation Sapphire, the Met's task force to tackle sex crimes.

Detectives will take a statement from the girl before making further
inquiries with anyone she claims as being involved in the alleged
attack.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "We can confirm that the Metropolitan
Police Service have received an allegation of rape from a 17-year-old
female.

"At this stage it would be inappropriate to comment further."

A source said the investigation was still at an early stage."

edit: Word from reliable sources of mine is that they were Newcastle players. I hope SBR sacks the lot of them.

On the other hand, Newcastle reported that they arrived back on Friday night (edit: Sat morning), so unless some stayed behind, it can't be them.

Ive dug a little deeper and apparently there is one accusation of rape, and several of aiding a rape

Maybe, maybe not. My cousin got raped and thanks to an "open minded" police department her rapist is walking free and any evidence conveniently contaminated. I'm not saying she's telling the truth; I'm just saying wait and hear the facts.

I couldn't give a rat's ass about Limey football, but the fact that they're celebrities makes them more convenient targets for false accusation than the average joe on the street.

Sorting out the truth, assuming it can and will be sorted out, is what investigators and the courts are for.

Although my source is pretty reliable, I'll try to get hold of my uncle as he is a local match commentator at NUFC. He tends to know the inside gossip. e.g. There was a major drugs scandal a few years back that managed to elude the press.

I highly doubt she made it up...I don't think most sex crime victims elaborate on their attacks just for attention.

True, by including 7 other players, she's effectivley got 7 more people to call her a liar in court. If it was a setup the smart move would be to get a player on his own, tell him she's into rough sex then go to the police with the marks (or whatever), her word against his, then the worst case scenario is she loses and sells her story to a Sunday rag
