plus, i've never seen you make one of those "mm... asian women" cracks.

i'm more than willing to admit that yes, i probably am quite hypersensitive to it. that doesn't change the fact, at least in my opinion, that although there's a lot of positives with interracial dating, it's the fetishists that give it all a horrid name, in particular with non-asian male+asian female dynamic.

until recently, i hadn't met another asian male+non-asian female couple in person. so i still think my type of relationship is a rarer breed.

Q, much rarer breed. Many white guys have run into terrific life shattering situations with women from the US. Every time I help some poor guy meet a Filipina I have to listen to some terrible story. I don't see white women doing the same thing. So, your case is rare I believe. More power to you guy. I love asians, great folks, mostly.

You're right, there's a lot of really creepy white guys who come to Asia looking for a ****-toy. I like to think I'm an exception, one of my things I like best about my Korean gf is that she's not demure/quiet/submissive (and doesn't have the slightest bit of gungju byeon / "princess disease" thank god). But then on the other hand, when I moved here I found asian girls on average less physically attractive than white girls but since then its swapped and is slowly moving in the other direction for no good reason I can discern, which is starting to creep me out a bit, I don't want to turn into one of the "Yellow Fever" guys you get around here...

i don't know if you could limit it just to us women, though. i know quite a few korean men who would do anything to get away from their korean wives... the grass always looks greener on the other side, so to speak.

thanks, and i'm not sure why relationships of this type are rarer. part of it, i think, is that we asian men aren't really ever considered. i've yet to see an asian man playing the lead in any semi-romantic storyline, for one.
another, we don't often fit the stereotype of what's attractive. you have the tall, dark and handsome: 'cept we're not particularly tall; you have the he-man, 'cept we're usually of slighter build. so it boils down to that, i guess, we're not what western society considers attractive.

and now that i think about it, asian male-non-asian female relationships... one hears about them, but i only know of two, mine and some random people i passed by on the street once.

this ir dating business is funny. one sees more black male-white female relationships than white male-black female, too.

dreamworks has bought the remake rights to "my sassy girl"--and i'm hoping that they remake it with asians, because a bunch of the humor does sprout from korean/asian sensibilities.

i suppose things are a bit different over there. here, all the asian guys tend to stick to the party, er, family line, and tend to only date other asians, unless they're rebellious/fully americanized.

i'm the latter.
