The only problem I see here is that it's a colossal waste of money. Anybody with kids can tell you that they figure out how to fondle themselves just fine -- and well before age 9.

Still, anything that teaches kids that masturbation is normal and healthy can't be all bad.

Can we please just remember what kind of a newspaper The Sun is. This is the paper that ran a week-long "feature" before Samantha Fox's 16th birthday saying "Only a week to go and she'll be old enough to pose nude for our readers!" Which she then did. Not really somewhere to go for family values by any stretch of the imagination.

Sam fox used to be a topless model for the sun newspaper (amongst other things I imagine). She got quite famous for it although she must be 40+ by now. I remember having sam fox strip poker on my spectrum. Having to learn poker at 7 just so I could get the clothes off of a grainy image of sam fox

The problem is that childen are experimenting from at least 9, and its this kind of age that there has to be some kind of sex ed, at least to stop the 11 year old boys making the 12 year old girls pregnant. I know its distasteful for some parents, but other kids do need this ed at these ages.

I don't know about you, but I'd much rather my kids knew what to do and what not to do than just had to work it out for themselves. This is no guarantee that they'd do what they'd been told though, but at least they'd know the possible consequences of their actions. Most kids these days know more swearwords than I do (though admittedly, none of the more obscure ones ) and have been brought up in an environment where the popstars wear almost nothing () and they are encouraged to copy their examples. ()
Innocence is overrated and all too fragile these days so there's no point in trying to keep kids in the dark as long as possible.

You've obviously never been a 9-year-old girl.

Some of my girlfriends actually asked me for "gardening tips". True, most of them come from overseas, where the cultural acceptance of female sexuality is not particularly high, but we're talking postgraduate college students here, aged anywhere from 23-27 who just never learned how to pleasure themselves.

Maybe it's different for guys. My brother says he learned some time in his early teens.
