CAMPAIGN BOMBSHELL: ARNOLD PRAISED HITLER IN BOOK PROPOSAL
Am unearthed book proposal by Pumping Iron's director George Butler is set throw the California recall race in to new levels of complete chaos.
The book proposal quotes Arnold Schwarzenegger naming monster Adolf Hitler as a hero!
MORE
ABC News, which broadcast the remarks on Thursday, said they were contained in an unpublished book proposal with quotes from what it calls a "verbatim transcript" of the interview.
Asked about his heroes, the young Schwarzenegger was quoted as saying; "I admired Hitler, for instance, because he came from being a little man with almost no formal education, up to power.
I admire him for being such a good public speaker and for what he did with it."
The actor was quoted as saying he wished he could experience being .."like Hitler in the Nuremberg stadium and have all those people scream at you and just being total agreement whatever you say."
Asked by ABC News to comment on the old remarks, Schwarzenegger said: "I cannot remember any of these. All I can tell you is that I despise everything Hitler stood for. I despise everything the Nazis stood for ... everything the Third Reich stood for."
The author of the book proposal told ABCNEWS that the quotes needed to be seen in context.

Combined with Arnold's history of abuse against women coming out, will this be enough to sink the Schwarzenegger campaign? Could this save Davis? Will California Republicans now finally have the balls to back a real Republican (McClintock)?

I hope you don't ever plan on running for public office.

I doubt it will get much credence.
Do you want a copy of the "verbatim transcript" of my conversation with Arnold about setting up farm animal and kiddie porn sites? I'd be happy to give it to you... if the price was right.
Arnold is firmly in public figure immunity territory, so he has no legal recourse even against the most blatantly false and malicious sort of statements - not saying whether this is or isnt, but the thing is nobody can "prove" anything at this point, and there's no hazard to anyone who smears Arnold.
If California Republicans want to back McClintock (who I prefer even for non-strategic reasons), that's fine, they'll either return Davis' gift and blow the recall, or elect Bustamante.
Davis had it made - the recall momentum was spent after the first newssplash about Arnold, Issa was out, the circus aspects of 130 candidates and Gary Coleman and pornstars and etc. was making the whole thing look ridiculous. Voters were forgetting why the Davis recall thing happened - the budget was over, old news, and the state was being humiliated with the candidate circus. Then Davis decided he couldn't leave well enough alone, and he had to start showing up and opening his mouth.
