Mrs Horse won't have a dog. On the basis that she's the one who would have to do all the work. Very astute, Mrs Horse.

Her other reasoning being a dog would raise the household idiot quota to 6.

There's just her and the rabbit to balance the ledger.

Like your yard, AH. Fall is here in Minnesota, and a drought this summer has lead to some very poor fall color. Most years the many ashes in town turn orange and occasionally purple. The local Silver Maples and Paper Birches turn a sunny yellow. This year the ashes just shriveled up and shed their leaves with no color change, and the maples and birches put on a poor show. After our long winters the spring is spectacular, with many trees blooming, especially crab-apples, rowans, lilacs, and plums. Our many conifers, like White Pine and Balsam Fir, are really cool. Too bad it is too cold here for many exotic trees I like, such as Southern Beech, Monkey Puzzle, Totara, and Cedar-of-Lebanon.

I WANT SPRING!

Odin, yeah we're coming out of drought and fire here so the spring blossom was a bit disappointing in spite of a lot of rain recently. The trees and plants must have been really stressed out to be still feeling the effects.

But some of the fruit trees have just gone into a late bloom which has been awesome. Also the grape vines are just starting the blossom nicely so we should get some nice table grapes this year. Must find out how to make vino.

I just sprayed weedkill on most of the weeds in the above picture, but I have no idea what I'm going to do with this area.

Australia doesn't have any serious mountains by world standards but what passes for the Australian Alps start in the mountains next to Canberra.

So we get cold snaps through Spring right up till November (remembering our spring is your autumn).

Table grapes make horrible wine. You need special wine grapes other wise your wine ends up tasting like syrup.

Ha! There are more of use then the rest of you (Australians, British, New Zealanders, Canadians, etc)combined so there for our way of spelling is correct and yours is wrong. That's how democracies work.
