Mrs horse prepared a nice Thai meal for finbar but dermott doesn't like spicy food so finbar had to point out an alternative food source, Patches the rabbit.

Down to business, planting some bean seedlings finbar grew himself. He brought a couple of tomato plants down for me as well. A 3 hour drive to plant some vegetable is commitment.

In fact dermott probably had hopes of making friends but when a rabbit constantly shows you its butt like patches was, it means they don't like you. But strangely dermott never worked this out.

4 hours of somnolent, bucolic Canberra was about all city boy finbar could take anyway - the fresh air was killing him

finbar says he doesn't like kids. The trouble is, they like him. pat is quite particular about who picks him up.

Phew. Just got home. Dermott is absolutely buggered and will sleep like a log tonight. Normally, he sleeps most of the day. Today, he's had a 6 hour drive - awake all the way - as well as hours of torment from a feral rabbit and a bunch of feral kids.

Don't overwater the tomato, Horse! Especially the seedling in the container in your kitchen window! And remember to turn it every day to keep it growing straight!

1) I wish I were a "famous writer" so I could hang about looking like a beach bum all day.

2) The kids and the wife are gorgeous, but I'm feeling much better about my own hair now, Horse.

3) If I had been there and you were smoking a butt around my toddler, I'd have created a bit of an awkward scene, Fin! Tsk, tsk!!!
