I think what Ming should do is suspend Asher for about a month and see what difference it makes on the forums. Then if it makes a positive difference (and it will) he can decide what else to do with him. If not, then he should pardon Asher, let him back in, and ask the owners to give him his own temporary forum to make up for the time that he lost here (which will never happen, I'm quite sure of it).

This is not an on topic tech forum. It's that simple.

You can point to Asher as the one that ratted you out... but that doesn't change the fact of the rules that are being broken in this forum. Frankly, I don't care what his agenda is or was... the issue is that this forum is being abused. And that's the only FACT that matters.

If Asher can't troll, spam, and lie in this forum, then he'll do it in the OTF like he always has. That is a VERY important point we're trying to make, Ming.

I can see your point of view and I guess I don't really have a problem with you restricting the Mac forum to Civ discussion only, if that's what you feel the owners want. It sucks, but you're just doing your job, in that case.

The thing that does bother me, though, is the appearance, whether real or not, that you have been manipulated into doing Asher's dirty work for him. He's made no friends in the Mac community here with his constant trolling and flaming, so it is understandably upsetting when we find out our forum is getting severely restricted at what seems to be his behest. The fact that he's already running around shooting his mouth off and gloating doesn't make it look any better.

I guess what I'm saying is restrict the Mac forum if you think it's your job to do so, but at least show some kind of negative reaction to the petty and vindictive behavior that brought the forum to your attention in the first place. Don't let the hall monitors of the world win.

Makes me wish I had actually used this forum to boost my post count. My good behavior seems rather silly now that the forum got destroyed anyway; I could've been at Emperor by now if I hadn't avoided spamming.

Save for panag and Asher, the Mac forum has less spam than most of the moderated forums. Seems like good behavior to me.

Well, to tell you the truth, I had no idea that I or anyone else was breaking the rules here, and I don't think the others did, either. If there was a thread posted here that had specific rules in for this forum, this kind of stuff could be avoided.

Asher apparently knew this was against the rules because he is the one that apparently reported it. This makes Asher look bad because it's all part of his scheme to get the Mac users on Poly in trouble. That just shows you what a sad character he is.
