This is an ON TOPIC CIV FORUM.

It is meant to discuss CIV for the MAC.

IT IS NOT A MAC FORUM for general discussion. That type of stuff is meant for the OTF.

So... after this, I will be handing out serious Post Count Reductions... and restrictions if NON CIV MAC stuff continues to be posted in this forum.

Show me a link to the post you are refering to, and I will unlock the thread IF it's just not another bashing MS thread... a tech thread... and only has one or two game related posts in it.

Most of the stuff I've seen and closed/deleted HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ANY GAME

Well, not to be sarcastic or anything, but I reckon there won't be anyone posting here for a long time. There's not many threads/posts here on Civ-Mac stuff and only 6 pages of threads total, too. Might as well delete the whole forum.

Just because a forum is dying or dead doesn't mean it can turn into whatever you want it to. The owners have rejected setting up "tech" forums...

This is an ON TOPIC gaming forum... and I see very little games be discussed. I see a TECH forum and a MS bashing forum and a spam forum.

And do you really need to ask why the crackdown...
"SOMEBODY" pointed it out in the community forum.

And his comments were correct. This forum is being abused... and it will stop.

Convince the owners a tech forum is needed... so far, nobody has been able to convince them. Maybe because this is a gaming site

The off topic has Mac and Tech threads... there is NO reason why you can't continue these types of discussions there.

Feel free... but the OTF is meant for these kind of discussions. A seperate forum isn't really needed.
There are many special interest groups that have requested their own forums... and 99% have been denied by the owners. You should respect their wishes since it is their site.

I just see a lot of spam and +1's in this forum...

You need to look closer, Ming. Besides panag's explosions of Mac propaganda and the flame wars started by a certain ******* from Calgary, there's actually very little posting that goes on in here. Most of the users are very well behaved and don't abuse the forum to get +1's. It's certainly nothing that some intermittent moderation wouldn't solve, thereby negating the need to destroy the forum completely.

All you're doing with this action is driving users to Civ Fanatics...

Exactly... This is a GAMING forum... Tech discussions that are non game related are OFF TOPIC.

Why should people spam there way up to a higher post count in this forum when the OT already provides a place for people to hold these same discussions.

That's fine, but if the mac people post mac stuff in the OT forum it gets flamed by (among others) the same sad case individual who came here and wrecked the forum in the first place.

That's why this place ended up with mac people discussing mac stuff (including games - I just started a thread on mac-HOI before I saw the "notice").

You see an MS bashing forum because a certain poster invaded it a few weeks ago and started several MS flame wars. Before that it was mainly people asking mac questions, complaining about the lack of PTW for the mac and talking about paradox games.

There were precious little Apple threads here (except for Panag's endless spamfests) until the mac posters got sick of Asher (mainly) thread-wrecking and came over here.

We don't want a tech forum. We would like a forum where we mac using Apolytoners can talk about mac games and occasional other mac stuff without it being trolled, flamed or trivialized.

I did look real close... and I saw very little actual game discussion. This is not meant to be a tech forum, so I have to chuckle at your claims of being behaved and not abusing +1's.

These kind of threads can and already appear in the OTF... WHERE THEY BELONG. You are the ones that are abusing a dead forum. Using your logic, people could come in and take over any dying on topic forum for religion... sports... whatever. I don't think so. In the past... when people did that... people got restricted.
I've just deleted/closed some threads, and warned people to stay on topic.
