The fact is This is World War III.
...........I'll let that sink in a moment............
And this time it's the USA's turn to beg and cry for help in a war that nobody wants to admit is happening (remember appeasement? [WWI, WWII] it STILL doesn't work).
This is a war brought on by the Islamo-Fascists against the non-Muslim and Western World. Bush & his boys are trying to get a foothold in the region to force a change in the very thinking in the land of "the Religion of Peace".
It's a slightly desperate move but a bold one in the face of overwhelming apathy, denial, greed and just plain cowardice displayed by many in the West. They are thinking if Iraq becomes a productive, 'free' society, others in the region will follow.
The Iraq war has everything to do with terror, Queda, WMD and the very survival of the Western culture. Same with Afghanistan. Take a look at the map (you CAN find the Middle East, CAN't you?). Look at Iraq/Iran/Afghanistan...nice swath, eh? Iran will fall on it's own, from within...it's already starting.
The victim mentality in the so called "Religion of Peace" must be changed for the positive or WWIII may become an all out shooting war (READ: the non-Muslims declare Jihad BACK).
Many elements within "the Religion of Peace" are bent on converting (or killing) the non-beleivers. They also seek to establish fascist thocracies (Muslim) covering the entire planet. They preach victimhood and Western oppression to brainwash their recruits.
Whatever the excuse for invasion, the intent is to change the Middle East to thinking more like the West. Who knows if it will work. I don't see any other suggestions on the table.
Remember: This is World War III.
Now is that so bad? Is this a blatant troll? Come on..let the people discuss it.

Actually a very interesting point is that most of the islamic fundamentalist indoctrination appears to be happening at Pakistan, which if I'm not confused, is another fine point of american brilliance in foreign policy? Their was a study recently that placed that country (Pakistan not the US) highly on the indictrination of fundamentalism through specific religious schools. And of course there's Saudi Arabia which actually finances the building of such "spiritual centres" in many countries around the world including so called western ones.

If you really want to look at a deserving, hideous Moslem government much more deserving of world attention - the Sudan. Slavery, genocide - but oh, they have oil and they are selling it to Europe and China, who supply them with the arms to exterminate the black nativists and Christians in the South. But that would be too messy, so a group of idiots instead choose to make Iraq the example, which was just a simple vicious dictatorship.

Skyjack I hope I spell your name correctly. I hight doubt there will be WWIII as Bush and his Right Wing Christian Fundie make it into than Culture and Religious war with they personal insult aim at the Founder of Islamic and at Islamic culture. Islam have about 1.3 billion follower and when you have that many follower you are going to than few who do terrorist acts, that doesnot support your over simple motion that all Muslum are terrorist. Churchhill and FDR didnot tell lies to other leaders like Bush and Blair did. When they warm Stalin about the Invarsion of the USSR by Hilter on June 21,1941 Stalin didnot believe or trust then, when Hilter did invarsive on that day he was more willing to believe then in the future. Churchill and FDR where multilateralists and they respect other nation opion even annoying one such as French. Churchill once said "The only thing worse than haveing allies is not having allies"
Plus I donot see Bush invadeing Pakistan or Iran as they have nuclear weapon allready.

Totally disagree with the WWIII scenario.
First of all the idea that it is the West against Islam is ridiculous. Nationalist groups which are by coincidence Muslim are fighting for independence in Kashmir, the Phillipines, Chechnia too. Sure Islam is an issue, just as Catholicism is an issue in Northern Ireland, however it is not the fundamental issue. The fundamental issue is that most people would like that the people deciding over their daily lives have some sort of connection to them, often ethnic, tribal or democratic. They don't want some governor of an empire deciding on their behalf. I think what is happening is some sort of final reversal of western imperialism. And this time it is total, meaning that it includes a reversal of economic dominance.
If this was indeed as serious as some comentators are suggesting it would then seem perverse that this War is being used as a cover for in fact obtaining some very short aimed diplomatic stunts. I fail, for instance to see what the precise connection is between fighting terror and overturning regimes in Georgia, Croatia and an attempted coup in Venezuela.
It would seem that certain regimes have decided that the war on terror could be used as a cover under which one could perpetrate various abuses of diplomatic order for their own exclusive benefit.
This of course makes you wonder who the true instigators of terror in fact are.
