I dunno... my family and friends tend to die (in fact it seems like they all die at some point!) and I'm not too fussed.
Then again, I'm majorly responsible for my mother's housebound agony, so I suppose I might mind death if someone I LIKED died... but I wouldn't be around to notice, would I?

My stance on Abortion?
You'll find I'm quite pro-abortion. This is based on the premise that an unwanted child is a neglected child.
I'm also anti-adoption due to a low faith in people's abilities to raise children.

Exactly. Now tell me why the same does not apply to children who are deformed? Surgery can improve their lives by repairing the cleft lip.

One of our MPs has a cleft lip. Are you telling me that such a person is not successful? He's our minister of finance.

If your premisses were true, you would have an eminently logical case. However, there are a great deal of families that would be willing to adopt chiildren, but cannot because there are none available. Surely some would be good caretakers, otherwise you would have a case to say that no women ought to be mothers because they can't take care of their children perfectly.

Now, is it the fault of the child that his mother does not love him? No. Why then should we allow the mother to kill her child? It is a sign of a sick society that we must kill children to ensure that all of them are wanted.

This path will never lead to a proper definition that allows us to kill all the children before they are born, yet also allow for those who are born to stay alive.

Serious deformity cannot be empirically assessed, and is therefore a poor criterion for personhood.
