In C3C there are no civs that are so bad I wouldn't play them in a game like this.
*hopes that those don't go down as famous last words*

I suppose you may talk to Octavian. If itīs that specific civ, he might restart your game.

Sorryy, that's too much trouble. . You should be fine, ADG. As pointed out, there's a good chance you'll not get that civ.
We also still away GhengisFarb's address. Game 2 won't start until we get that info.
I have recieved passwords from the following people:
Game 1:
ADG
Rommel2D
predesad
Game 2:
Soltz
GhengisFarb (No e-mail address)
Game 3:
Wittlich
smellymummy
notyoueither
CerberusIV
Game 4:
BigFree
Sir Ralph
E_T
Paddy the Scot
Games 3 and 4, therefore, will be sent out to the first people on the list in a few hours. Games 1 and 2 will start when we recieve passwords from Tarquinius, Iron Jackson and rogerurb, as well as GF's e-mail address.
Also, if someone could recommend a free e-mail service I can use with a decent amount of storage space for the use of CC saves, I'd appreciate it.

Do we really have to do all this?
What's wrong with simply running a thread here on poly for each game like any other PBEM. It should be up to the players to keep track. Octavian (or any other referee) only needs to be sent the turn to play if someone is overdue and the other players should pick that up and act on it.
Am I missing something here?

As far as I can see, the turn order should be E_T, BigFree, Paddy, Sir Ralph. E_T failed to give his time zone, but he waves an US flag and hence, should play between me (Europe) and BigFree (US west coast). If we don't fix this, chances are, that this game will be very slow (at most 1 turn in 2 days). |
It might still if you do that. Next week, I'll be starting a job that works 2 days, then off 2 days, 12 hours shift each day, from 6PM to 6AM.

You probably mean BACKSLASH instead of BACKSPACE, and it's still wrong, because through the internet slashes are to be used. By the way, the hassle of manually maintaining the ftp directory sucks. |
Yep, it was backslash I ment... isn't backslash = / ???

I will do so, but under protest only. When I said a referee, I meant one per game. Players from other groups can do that. |
That's what I thought also, but since I wasn't sure, that's why I made a poll out of it, and it got turned down...

I was just asking if anyone was interested... I defently would prefer the ftp way, since downloading/uploading files attached to emails it very annoying...
The player who gets the save from me, don't get the save in an attachment, but instead he just downloads from a static link, as soon he gets the email that the turn is played.
This only takes about 10% of the time, compared to if I had to use the attachment feature in the email service
And this wasn't supposed to stop the "I've sent the save" threads... those threads should still exist

The ftp thing is no problem downloading files (I receive the turn from ADG in one game anyway like this) but there is little difference in uploading compared to sending an attachment (I upload to a yahoo group for one game) for me and my dial up connection.
I suggest this is left to the players in each game to sort out whatever they are comfortable with. Let's get going.
