Yeah, the real Boris is pissed, too! Got spare money?

WHY CAN'T I FIND A STOOPID CHRISTMAS GIFT FOR MY DAD?!?!

Could one person be this hard to shop for? Everything on his list is cheap crap that anyone would feel lame giving as a gift. Empty CD cases? Please. A wall thermometer? Pathetic.

I come supplicating...I need cool gift ideas for my dad. Keep in mind he's technologically impaired, so things like PDAs are out.

OH HELP ME!

BTW, in what name do you claim to be the real Boris? We both registered the same month. The only reason I'm still a chieftain is all of my posts are in the OT.

You remind me of these two people who tried to sit on the same subway seat. Their asses collided exactly over the middle of the seat.

Still, both claimed to be the first one. Huh?

I don't like giving small gifts either. When I do that I buy multiple small gifts. That's my advice. buy several small items. They all add up to a nice gift.

Boris G. is an eruditic, cultured person.

O. Boris is yet another inexperienced ideologue of the type too frequently seen on these boards.

Take a guess who's side I'm on?

Regardless, O. Boris first posted on August 7th, 2001 whereas the real Boris' first post (that I can find) was much later, on October 28th.

I never seen him in the off-topic before 2 days ago.

The "real" Boris has been a very frequent off-topic poster. And while I don't agree with all his political views, he is a great poster. One of off-topic's better posters.

Looks like O.B. has been posting sporadically (5 non-OT posts in 2002, 6 in 2001) and has just recently come back - he posted once in March, and then hit the OT in a flurry come this month.

I posted before that, as I was posting here during September 11th. I know I posted when I first registered, which is why I bothered registering in the first place.

BUT THAT IS OFF TOPIC FOR THIS THREAD.

You know, just because you disagree with the guy is no reason to trash him like this.

Who cares if they have similar names. I am still trying to sort out who the various posters with the "the" in their title are.

The Diplomat
The Viceroy
The Templar
etc.

buying clothing for guys is risky. Especially older guys who can be picky about what they wear.

I still say to buy many small gifts. They all add up.

Oh no, I've been burned on the clothing route before. I've gotten him stylish clothes, and he steadfastly refuses to wear them. He's very specific about the dullness of his wardrobe.

He specifically asked for grey dress shirts with button-down collars. Hopeless...

yep, the weather channel clued me in to his stylish sensibilities .

just get him grey dress shirts with button-down collars then . Many guys are happy to get what they ask for. Not like women who might say they want one thing, but actually want another.

Boris- I think if you check somewhere like Gibraltar issued a commemorative Elvis coin.

Also hasn't the Grenadines or Aruba or one of those places issued Elvis stamps?

Howzabout some music/rock'n'roll themed foreign stamps?

What about food? Is he a secret gourmand? Does he have a secret fetish for chocolate ants, emu pate or quail in aspic? A deli gift certificate?

Is he a gardener? Gardener's balm, a new dibbler, a deluxe trowel....

Is he homo ludens? Would he relish a replica Isle of Lewis chessmen set? Alice in Wonderland playing cards?

Howabout a Redstone Press/Shambala Press box (available from MoMA, I think) ?

Tickets for Broadway/Off Broadway/Off Off Broadway, a year's subscription to Playboy, tartan socks and pom pom slippers, I don't know, I give up.
