That flies against what severel Israeli leaders have written in their memoirs. If it had not been for the constant conflict the sort of economic dislocation and expropriation perpetrated against the Palestinians for the benefit of the Jewish proletariat would have been politically impossible. Therefore the state of Israel has followed a policy of increasing provocation and escalation.

Americans largely consider Israel their baby. Like the proud parent they enthuse, support and admire it. Compared to other alliances the US has made in the past, it is of course very important that this one should be free from any criticism, which is why the official media in America present a frankly untrue picture of the conflict. Neither has the UK. OTOH, IIRC, North Korea has a constitution. Constitutions mean diddly squat.

Except that the document making the state of Israel official specifically calls for the creation of a constitution.
