Watching this game tonight, both teams look worse than not only USC, but also Michigan, Ohio State, and Kansas State. Not to mention Georgia.
The results of the 2nd annual GGNCAACFT:
In the preliminary round, #8 seed Boise State bested #9 Utah, 44-20, in the Holiday Bowl.
Hopelessly outmatched and outgunned in the quarterfinals, the Broncos gave it a valiant effort in a 29-10 loss to #1 seed Oklahoma at the Fiesta Bowl. In other quarterfinal action, #5 seed Florida State survived a stirring fourth-quarter rally by #4 Michigan, and won 40-38 in the Peach Bowl. In the Cotton Bowl, #6 Miami (FL) outplayed #3 USC to the tune of 28-17. And in the CapitalOne Bowl, #2 LSU had the scare of their lives against #7 Miami (OH), but hung on to win a 21-19 nailbiter.
Semifinal action saw an absolute whipping in the Orange Bowl, as the Seminoles were pulverized by the Sooners, 55-10. And in the Rose Bowl, the Tigers outgunned the Hurricanes, 37-31.
And so, the Sugar Bowl of the 2nd annual GGNCAACFT showcased the same two teams in the so-called "National Championship Game" taking place tonight in the real Sugar Bowl. The result here on the little purple box on top of my TV:
Oklahoma 52
LSU 24

Selection committee is a bad, bad, bad idea.
I thought the whole point of the BCS was to acknowledge the fact that human polls are sometimes wrong.
