No society should try to make it a tad easier for parents. And society doesnt have to mean the state, BTW. It can take the form of boycotts, social pressure, etc, on culture producers to produce things that improve character, etc rather than trash. And on retailers to enforce the rating systems. And simply making PARENTS more aware of whats out there, how the ratings systems work (and dont work) what their kids are playing and watching, and what may be happening at their friends houses. It means making it socially acceptable to ask another parent "what kinds of films do you let the kids watch when my child visits?" and "what kinds of games do you let them play?"

It starts first and foremost with making "objectionable" features in games an acceptable topic for discussion on sites like this, and not being silenced by claims "its just a game" or shouts of censorship(ironically used to censor discussion)

None that I know of, people have just given their opinion. But even if they had, that doesn't make censorship.

Nothing. I thought this thread was turning towards parenting in general and what society's role should be in the raising of our children.
