That's like the old adage, don't sleep with someone who's problems are worse than your own. Somebody has to end up on the short stick, regardless of the occasion. You can't both have the best life. I'd rather get burned than miss out on a wonderful girl.

As a female.....I'm going to have to agree. Seriously as f***** up as it sounds, its quite true. I broke up with an ex over a year ago, and then when i heard he was hooking up with someone else i got jealous - but then when he wanted me back recently i didn't want to know about it.

You don't have to be a scumbag. Find some other girl you like as a friend and do platonic things with her. And gauge the reaction from the old girlfriend....if she ignores it, you've learned something....but if she constantly asks about your new "friend" - bingo...you learned something else!
