Dirty Succession Game Got spare money?

Sometimes the good guys lose -- and since we don’t want to be losers, we’ll be BAD.

This is the Dirty Succession Game.

Rule #1 is to get the worst reputation we can AND STAY THERE.

#2: We will have no Aqueducts or Sewers, ever (if we take cities with these improvements, the public works must sold off ASAP, and the cities shrunk to no more than size 8). We don’t care about pollution -- if you clean it up, we don’t want to hear about it (sissy).

#3: Our first Wonder must be the Eiffel Tower. By creating this, we will be forced to continually perform despicable acts to maintain our reputation. Once we have this wonder we can make more…BUT we must destroy all wonders so that they never get into enemy hands. (So yes, we can build Darwin’s, but plan on building it in a small city, and then disbanding the city ASAP -- same with Apollo & Manhattan. In fact, this might be a good strategy with other wonders as well; but remember, Eiffel must be the first one built.) If we come across a city with a Wonder, we can either take the city and then sell off the improvements and shrink the city to nothing, or simply raze it -- the goal is to end up with one Wonder (the Shining Silver Spire) and the remaining ones either Lost or never built.

#4: Winning condition (you have to ask?) -- building spaceship parts is for losers.

20 turns each for the first round, 10 turns each thereafter.

Playlist:

1) Old n Slow
2) Six Thousand Year Old Man
3) JRabbit
4) LaFayette
5) SG[1]
6) Zedd
7) debeest
8) Duke of York

------------------------------------------------------------------
Dishonest John of the Russians -- no starting Techs

3750 -- Found Muddville

3500 -- Found Slimeball
3450 -- Discover Alphabet (opt for Code of laws)

3200 -- Hut = Legion (supported by the Slimes)

3050 -- Game saved.

Oh yeah, FYI -- MGE, giga, if there are any special Poly rules, feel free to abide by them, otherwise, don't ask & we won't tell...

(Yes, I know -- with the small sized population centers, we could call ourselves the Villiage People, but that comes with its own set of jokes.)

Sign me up slow one, and reserve my spot at the institute.

I'll play, but I only just had a shower this morning. I've nearly run out of deodorant though, so maybe I shouldn't buy a replacement. Not sure how the demands of this game will go down with 'er indoors, but we'll see how things go.

If we're not allowed to build aqueducts then I think the city pop-up telling you about growth will get very annoying very quickly.

Eight ought to be enough though! Sign up anyway.

I know about using the Options menu to turn off the pop-ups but haven't used it in ages. Will it turn off all pop-ups, or just those you want it to? I'd prefer to know when one of my cities has gone into disorder - which is why I leave them on regardless.

Good luck with the filthy turns -Jrabbit. Just don't muck up!

Dirty Bunny Browse Apolyton AD-FREE

the year is 3050 BC and we seem to be crawling in the mud. We have 2 cities, 14 GP, and techs are taking 9 turns. On the flip side, Demographics lists us as 1st in everything (despite no Top 5 cities).

3050 -- ENTER

3000 -- Discover Code of Laws
-- Nothing on the path. Techs offered are: Bronze, Make Maps, Masonry, Pottery, War Code, and Writing.
-- Since we can't work toward WoWs, we take Writing (for Dirty Dips and 3rd-row RB) as our off-tech. Lets us use unsupported dips for exploration and treaty-breaking.
--Rush warrior in Slimeball to prevent disorder.

2950 -- Slimeball builds Warrior, starts Settler. Hut spotted.

2900 -- Hut = Advanced Tribe! Renamed as Dust Bunny. Legion re-homes there.
--Warrior uncovers Buff-Wine-Silk-Coal spot. Not much food, but 2 much-need trade specials... Two cities here would be nice...

2850 -- Hut = chariot.

2800 -- Mudville builds Settler, heads for eastern trade specials.

2550 -- Barb archer/king duo appears near trade specials.

2450 -- Discover Writing. Start on Ceremonial Burial.

2300 -- Slimeball builds Settler.
--Tacitus epic history notes we are 2nd largest civ. Dirty Bunny's reaction: "Great!"

2100 -- Barb kills our valiant warrior.
-- Dust Bunny builds settler.
-- Eastern hut nets us a horsie (attached )

2050 -- Hut = horse.

The Dirty Bunny retires. We've added one city, but have 3 settlers on the hoof. One is headed toward the Whale at the west end of our land. another is headed for the two fish north of (the pathetically placed) Slimeballl), and the third is sitting on the Wine to the east (having finished a frustratingly long game of dodge-the-barb). This last one should probably irrigate before founding.

Reminders:
--With a size-8 limit, don't be afraid to overlap cities.
--Given our pathetic research rate, the next ruler may want to delay hut-popping until we've selected Monarchy (which should be very soon). In other words, do as I say, not as I do!

Notes:
Sadly, our western frontier ends quickly. Looks like the open land is to the east, and the hut-horse popped on the eastern frontier was still attached, so there should be room to expand out there. We now have a sufficiency of city sites and still haven't met any AI civs, so spit out them Settlers...

WELCOME DEBEEST!!!!!!!

Avatar Enlargement: We've got the solution

What were you thinking of, going into the bathroom?
Unless you were having a mud bath, like pachyderms, or a dust bath, like birds.

Since STYOM is missing at the moment, then it doesn't matter if -Jrabbit goes in at number 2 permanently. Fortunately we have SG to strengthen the middle order, before the traditionally English tail-end collapse. (Except Zedd & debeest of course)
Things could (and should) get messy....

Dirty glance #1: Monarchy discovered in 1400BC (must have missed 1450BC by 1 beaker)
Dirty glance #2: Our glorious city of Nobath (size 1) is going to build a settler next turn (what happened is that a Barb archer climbed on top of the wine hill close by and the worker was automatically moved to the buffalo)

Otherwise it went rather smoothly:

2000BC: Dung City founded

1950BC: Noshower founded

1900BC: Nobath founded

1800BC: Ceremonial Burial discovered

1400BC: Monarchy (aaaaargh)

1250BC: Monarchy established (at long last)

1150BC: Bronze Working discovered

1100BC: The nasty Barb archer is killed by our valiant chariot in Nobath (but the settler cannot be delayed )

One more point:

Given the size (and the shape) of the map, I guess that Marco should be given a high priority if we wish to get real nasty before 1000AD (that's why I chose BW and Currency after Monarchy).

One wonders what you would have chosen if building Marco was illegal under the rules...oops, it is illegal.

Looking at the save, one would think that the build order in Nobath should be changed so the city doesn't disappear.
