So heres the bad news :

I have to unfortunately go to hospital for some medical treatment on Thursday 11 th. I'll be there atleast over the weekend, but maybe even a full week. Thats unlikely tho, but you never know.

So i'm unable to use internet in any form about 4-7 days from Thu 11 th onward, and not able to take my turns. Sorry about this, but when youre a bit sick, something unexpected like this might happen

I hope you can wait for this period of time, because otherwise you'd have to retire me from the game, as i dont think there is much replacement players walking around.

Actually, Octavian had to turn away a replacement for CeberusIV in another game. Niessuh might be interested in filling in here.

4 days wouldn't be a big deal. A week is getting to the point where it might be worth it. If it were more than a week, I'd prefer a substitute.

The maximum time is the week, but shouldnt be more than that in any case.

Substitutes are always no-so-good option, because they are not the person that should be playing the game and have different strategy, they act different to what the original player would etc.
Then when you take the wheel again after a substitute, your game is usually more or less down the toilet.

You've got that right... I've only had one substitute (In the Earth game), and he made me loose a war I couldn't loose (The one against the AI)... not that it made that much difference anyway, since I couldn't have won the game anyway... but still...

i prefer no replacement players unless it is an extended preiod of time, 4 days is no big deal, a week is not really either, but if this were not a tournament thing i would not even care, since it is a tournament and some players want to rush it that makes it different, but our game is ahead of everyone, what good does it do to just stay ahead of everyone, we'll probably have to wait anyway when we finish this game.

@ Conqueror -- i hope your problem is not too serious, but a week stay in the hopsital sounds serious to me.

No, its not too serious, i dont know the english name for the disease, but its latin name is Colitis Ulcerosa. It does that when i go to toilet, somewhat blood comes out with the brown stuff.

Its usually OK with medication, but this time its a small trip to hospital.

But hey, now my cities can grow to size 12 when i have gone to hospital

Ha. I found a small internet cafe just outside of the hospital and tought to post some news.

Health is improving nicely

I'll propably be at home on late Thursday evening and will play my turn sometime on Friday.

Too bad there is no Civ3 available in the net cafe here

BtW, when the 1.20 patch comes out, i think upgrading to it would be strongly recommended. As it should contain atleast these fixes for PBEM games :

v1.20 Changes for PBEM:
* PBEM: Games can not be loaded in Single Player
* PBEM: v1.20 Games can not be loaded on earlier versions (prevents using earlier versions to still cheat) - earlier saves can be loaded in v1.20
* PBEM: Previous players Civ can no longer be seen when loading a PBEM game

This effectively stops the load error - finally.

The current tech tree will remain in effect, right? I noticed in my PtW game that was upgraded to C3C, that the arrows are there for research paths like they are in Conquests, but the actual techs follow the PtW model.
